What Are Other Ways to Get Car Rental Insurance?

If your credit card does not offer an Auto Rental Damage Collision Waiver, you may also obtain insurance in other ways. Depending on whether you are renting within the United States or abroad, you have some options:

  • Within the United States, you can use the built-in coverage for rental cars in your Automobile Insurance Policy (assuming you have a policy with full-coverage)
  • Ask for coverage from the rental car company for an extra fee
  • Third-party travel insurance companies also offer coverage
