Factory Warranty
2005 Honda Accord Basic Warranty
Honda basic warranty is called the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which lasted three years or 36,000 miles. This has now expired. All the car’s critical components, including the engine, transaxle, transmission, and other important parts, were covered.
2005 Honda Accord Powertrain Warranty
There was no separate powertrain warranty, but the basic warranty covered all parts of the powertrain for three years or 36,000 miles, including the engine, oil pumps, transaxle, and transmission. This warranty has expired.
Corrosion Perforation Warranty
The original owner was eligible for Honda’s Rust Perforation Limited Warranty, good for five years with unlimited miles. This only covered the original body panels with rust holes through the sheet metal. It has now expired. It did not cover surface rust, paint damage due to rust underneath, damage from striking objects, or submersion. It was also not transferable to subsequent owners.
Air Conditioning Warranty
There was no separate air conditioning warranty, but the Honda New Vehicle Warranty covered the air conditioning for three years or 36,000 miles if the unit was defective. Honda also covered the air conditioner refrigerant for one year. If the refrigerant needed a charge after the first year, it was not covered unless it was required as part of another warranty repair.
Paint Warranty
The 2005 Honda Accord did not come with a separate paint warranty. The basic warranty only covered paint that suffered from a manufacturer defect and has now expired. If the paintwork peeled or was damaged due to environmental effects or general wear and tear, the warranty did not cover it.
Battery Warranty
The Original Equipment Battery Limited Warranty started the same day as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty and covered the original battery for three years with no mileage limit at no cost to the owner. This warranty is no longer active for the 2005 Accord because it is older than three years.
Honda also offered a Replacement Battery Limited Warranty for any replacement batteries purchased from a Honda dealer. This was good for five years with no mileage limit. It fully covered the cost of a replacement battery for the first two years of the warranty, with a pro-rated credit toward the purchase of a new battery for the remainder of the warranty period. Year three covered 60% of the replacement cost, year four 40%, and year five 20%.
Emissions Warranty
The Emissions Warranty covers the components that make up the Honda Accord’s emissions control system for three years or 36,000 miles, except in California, where it’s for a maximum of 50,000 miles. Additionally, the Clean Air Act requires manufacturers to cover the catalytic converter, engine computer, and onboard diagnostics for eight years or 80,000 miles.
The Emissions Warranty covered the repair or service of any emissions-related component performed at an authorized Honda repair facility. Because the 2005 Honda Accord is more than three years old, this warranty is no longer in effect.

2005 Honda Accord Warranty Extensions Available Upon Purchase
The Honda Care extended warranty goes beyond factory coverage. This service contract covered everything from the powertrain to the brakes and the suspension. It was available for up to eight years or 120,000 miles, and owners could purchase it whether they had a new or used Honda Accord.
2005 Honda Accord Extended Warranties Available Now
The 2005 Honda Accord is no longer eligible for extended warranties through Honda, but it is eligible for third-party extended warranties, which are available through many companies. Some offer coverage for up to 250,000 miles, so if your Accord has low mileage, it might still be eligible.

Is the Suspension Covered Under the Honda Warranty?
The original New Vehicle Limited Warranty for the 2005 Honda Accord covered the suspension components, including shocks and struts, for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever came first. This has now expired.
Does the 2005 Honda Accord Have a Seat Belt Warranty?
The Seat Belt Limited Warranty covers the repairs to seat belts that fail to function properly for the entire useful life of the Accord. This means the 2005 Accord is still covered under this warranty. Honda will repair or replace any seat belt component, including all parts and labor.
Does the Honda Warranty Cover Accessories?
All accessories were covered for up to three years or 36,000 miles as part of the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty. An additional Accessory Limited Warranty came with any accessories purchased from a Honda dealer in the U.S. after the original vehicle purchase. This warranty covered the accessories for one year or 12,000 miles and has now expired.
