2005 Honda Odyssey Basic Warranty

The 2005 Honda Odyssey had a New Vehicle Limited Warranty sometimes referred to as a factory or manufacturer’s warranty. This factory warranty covered most components and systems for three years or 36,000 miles. This warranty has expired. Under the warranty, Honda would have covered the costs of parts and labor for defects involving the parts or materials or due to poor workmanship.

2005 Honda Odyssey Powertrain Warranty

The 2005 Honda Odyssey did not have a separate Powertrain Warranty. However, under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, Honda would have repaired or replaced the components of the powertrain at no cost to you. The New Vehicle Limited Warranty has expired.

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

The 2005 Honda Odyssey had a Rust Perforation Limited Warranty that was valid for five years with unlimited mileage. This warranty has expired for the 2005 Odyssey. When it was valid, Honda repaired the vehicle’s body panels from damage due to rust all the way through from the inside out. Some sources refer to the Rust Perforation Warranty as a Corrosion Perforation Warranty, which had the same coverage.

Air Conditioning Warranty

The 2005 Honda Odyssey did not have a separate air conditioning warranty. Honda provided repairs or replacement parts to the air conditioning system under the original factory warranty of three years or 36,000 miles, but this warranty has expired. Refrigerant refills were only covered for the first 12 months.

Paint Warranty

The 2005 Honda Odyssey did not have a specific paint warranty. If there was damage to the paint due to poor workmanship or defects in materials upon delivery to the dealer, Honda would have made repairs under the Basic Warranty, which has now expired.

Battery Warranty

The 2005 Honda Odyssey had an Original Equipment Battery Limited Warranty that lasted three years with no mileage limit. As of 2022, this has expired.

Tire Warranty

The 2005 Honda Odyssey did not have a specific warranty for the tires. The tire manufacturer provided a warranty for the tires. You can find the details of the tire warranty in the provided tire warranty booklet or by contacting the tire manufacturer. Any tire warranty has probably expired on a tire this old. Few, if any, vehicles this old still have their original tires. If they do, they should be replaced.

Emissions Warranty

The 2005 Honda Odyssey had a Federal Emissions Warranty of three years or 36,000 miles. Vehicles sold in California and states following their stricter emissions standards were covered for three years or 50,000 miles, with some components covered for seven years or 70,000 miles. These states included Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont.

In addition, you had coverage for the catalytic converter, engine computer, and onboard diagnostics for eight years or 80,000 miles under the Clean Air Act’s standards. All of these warranties have now expired.

FAQs

If you’re looking for commonly asked questions about the 2005 Honda Odyssey warranties, you’ll find answers here.

Yes. Under the Seat Belt Limited Warranty, Honda will repair or replace any seat belt parts that fail under normal usage for the useful life of the 2005 Odyssey. This warranty does not cover replacing the seat belt components for cosmetic or comfort reasons or for accidental damage from a collision.

Yes. You may still have coverage for the repair or replacement of parts of the muffler system under the Replacement Muffler Lifetime Limited Warranty. This warranty is valid for poor workmanship or defects in the muffler parts and does not cover other parts of the exhaust system, such as mounting hardware, gaskets, hangars, or clamps.

The first step is to check the 2005 Honda Odyssey brochure you downloaded to see the details of the Seat Belt Limited Warranty and the Replacement Muffler Lifetime Limited Warranty. You can also check with your Honda dealership, which can pinpoint details of your specific coverage. You’ll need to give them information, such as the year, make, and trim of your Odyssey, along with the vehicle identification number (VIN), which you can find along the bottom of your windshield or printed on a sticker inside the driver’s door.

The 2005 Odyssey had a three-year or 36,000-mile Accessory Limited Warranty that is now expired. This warranty covered accessories distributed by American Honda purchased from a Honda automobile dealership. If Honda installed the accessory at an authorized dealership, it covered the costs and labor of repairs or replacement parts. If someone else installed the Honda accessory, you would have been responsible for the labor costs but not the parts.

While most of the 2005 Honda Odyssey warranty coverage has expired, you can still get vehicle protection from a high-quality third-party source. To help ensure you offset the costs of repairs or replacement parts for your 2005 Honda Odyssey, be sure you have superb auto insurance coverage at affordable rates, including comprehensive coverage that will cover costs beyond your normal basic liability policy.

If your factory warranty has expired and you’re looking to reduce out-of-pocket expenses, be sure to check out the CARCHEX+FIXD Vehicle Protection Plan.
