All About Your 2009 Honda Ridgeline Warranty

Every new Honda vehicle, including the 2009 Ridgeline, comes with factory warranty coverage, also known as manufacturer’s warranty coverage. Automotive warranties can be confusing, so we’ve created this guide to help determine if you still have coverage for your Ridgeline and whether you have a factory or dealership warranty. We’ll also help you determine if your warranty covers paint, tires, and batteries.

Please note that warranty duration appears in time or mileage, whichever comes first. For example, a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty expires in three years or when you reach 36,000 miles in less than three years.

This warranty excluded the emissions control system, accessories, batteries, and tires, which had warranties under separate statements. Other exclusions included damage caused by normal wear and tear, cleaning and polishing services, and most window glass damage.

2009 Honda Ridgeline Powertrain Warranty

The 2009 Honda Ridgeline came with a five-year, 60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty that covered the engine, transmission, transaxle, front-wheel-drive system, and all-wheel-drive system. As of 2022, this warranty has expired.

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

The 2009 Honda Ridgeline came with a five-year unlimited mileage Rust Perforation Limited Warranty that covered any body panels rusted completely through from the inside out. As of 2022, this warranty has expired.

Air Conditioning Warranty

The 2009 Honda Ridgeline’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty covered the air conditioner for three years or 36,000 miles. This coverage has expired. The warranty only covered refrigerant for the first year and unlimited miles.

The 2009 Honda Ridgeline’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty did not cover paint. The Rust Perforation Limited Warranty did not cover rust caused by paint damage from road debris, and it didn’t cover paint matching.

The 2009 Honda Ridgeline came with a three-year, 36,000-mile Federal Emissions Warranty. Ridgelines sold in California and states following their stricter emission standards were covered under the California Emissions Warranty for three years or 50,000 miles, with some components covered for seven years or 70,000 miles. As of 2022, all of these warranties have expired.

Under the Clean Air Act, Honda had to cover the Ridgeline’s catalytic converter, engine computer, and onboard diagnostics for eight years or 80,000 miles. This coverage has also expired.

2009 Honda Ridgeline Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase

A Honda Care plan was available for a new 2009 Honda Ridgeline if purchased from an authorized Honda dealer before the New Vehicle Limited Warranty expired. This warranty extension covered components such as the engine, air conditioning, and electrical system for up to eight years or 120,000 miles.

While Honda Care plans are transferrable to subsequent owners, the warranty period for the 2009 Ridgeline has expired.
