What Your 2011 Honda Crosstour Warranty Covers

The 2011 Honda Crosstour included a basic warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles and a powertrain warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles. It also had corrosion perforation warranties, battery, and a robust emissions warranty.

Understanding the 2011 Crosstour’s warranties is important if you want to know what repairs and replacements Honda covers. Auto manufacturers give new vehicles a Factory Warranty, also called a Manufacturer’s Warranty, to cover the cost of repairs or replacement parts because of defects in materials or poor workmanship for a select time and mileage.

Here’s a quick list of the major 2011 Honda Crosstour warranties:

2011 Honda Crosstour Factory Warranty Coverage:
Basic Warranty:3 years or 36,000 miles
Powertrain Warranty:5 years or 60,000 miles
Corrosion Perforation Warranty:5 years with unlimited mileage
Battery Warranty:3 years or 36,000 miles
Emissions Warranty:3 years or 36,000 miles
3 years or 50,000 miles in some states
8 years or 80,000 miles on some parts
Roadside Assistance Coverage:3 years or 36,000 miles
Total Unique Recalls:3

These warranties often have exceptions or exclusions, and we’re here to help you understand them.

Keep in mind that these warranties are listed in terms of time and mileage.

For example, Honda gives newly purchased vehicles a three-year or 36,000-mile Basic Warranty, which will expire based on whichever limit you reach first. For more information, you can find answers to extra questions about your 2011 Crosstour warranty in the FAQ section at the end of the article.

Factory Warranty

2011 Honda Crosstour Basic Warranty

The 2011 Honda Crosstour came with a New Vehicle Limited Warranty that lasted three years or 36,000 miles. This warranty is expired for your 2011 Crosstour. When the comprehensive warranty was valid, Honda would have covered the cost of select repairs at no cost to you.

Honda would not have covered repairs or replacement parts due to normal wear and tear, misuse, or damage caused by a collision.

The 2011 Honda Crosstour had a five-year, 60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty that is expired. The Powertrain Limited Warranty covered the parts, components, and systems of the engine, transmission, transaxle, and front-wheel-drive system.

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

The 2011 Honda Crosstour came with a Rust Perforation Limited Warranty that was valid for five years with unlimited mileage, but it has expired. You might also hear it called a Corrosion Perforation Warranty

Under this warranty, Honda would have repaired or replaced the Crosstour’s body panels that had rusted from the inside out. Honda would not cover the body panel damage if the rust was on the undercarriage of the car or caused by immersion in sand, mud, or water.

Air Conditioning Warranty

The 2011 Honda Crosstour did not have an air conditioning warranty. When the New Vehicle Limited Warranty was valid, Honda would have made repairs to the air conditioning system at no cost. It covered air conditioning refrigerant for the first year. All air conditioning coverage has now expired.

Paint Warranty

The 2011 Honda Crosstour did not come with a specific paint warranty. When the three-year or 36,000-mile Basic Warranty was still valid, Honda would have made repairs if there was a defect in the paint material or damage from poor workmanship. The Basic Warranty is expired.

Battery Warranty

The 2011 Honda Crosstour had battery coverage when the New Vehicle Limited Warranty was still valid. Under the three-year, 36,000-mile Basic Warranty, Honda would have replaced the original equipment battery at no cost. The Basic Warranty is expired.

You can read more about Honda’s prorated Replacement Limited Battery Warranty on page 32 of the 2011 Honda warranty brochure.

Tire Warranty

The 2011 Honda Crosstour did not have a Honda tire warranty. Your 2011 Crosstour’s original tires had warranties from their tire manufacturer with unique time frames and mileage lengths.

You can contact your Honda dealership for help finding the original tire warranty’s specifics.

In addition, page 26 of the warranty brochure has contact information for tire manufacturers that would have provided tires and a tire warranty for your 2011 Crosstour.

Emissions Warranty

Additionally, under the Clean Air Act’s standards, auto manufacturers, including Honda, must cover the catalytic converter, engine computer, and onboard diagnostics for eight years or 80,000 miles. This coverage has expired for your 2011 Crosstour.
