2011 Honda Element Basic Warranty
On the day the first owner took possession of your 2011 Honda Element, a New Vehicle Limited Warranty paid for repairs of any parts that were defective due to low-quality workmanship or materials. This warranty lasted for three years or 36,000 miles and is now expired.
For six months, this warranty paid for replacement batteries for your key fob and remotes as well as wiper blades. It didn’t cover replacing damaged window glass or adding fluids unless part of other warranty work.
2011 Honda Element Powertrain Warranty
The Powertrain Limited Warranty for the 2011 Honda Element started on the same day as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty and lasted for five years or 60,000 miles. It paid to replace defective parts caused by poor workmanship. It’s now expired.
The coverage on the powertrain warranty included
- Engine
- Transmission
- Transaxle
- Drive system
Corrosion Perforation Warranty
Only the original owner of the 2011 Honda Element could use the coverage provided by the Rust Perforation Limited Warranty, which was good for five years with no mileage cap. This warranty is no longer in effect.
The Rust Perforation Limited Warranty covered the cost of replacing or repairing panels on the vehicle that had rusted through completely. Panels that showed signs of rust but weren’t completely rusted may have been repaired or replaced, but the decision was up to Honda.
The coverage excluded panels that had rusted from abuse, misuse, road hazards, or being immersed in mud, sand, or water.
Air Conditioning Warranty
Any defective parts of the air conditioning system in your 2011 Honda Element had coverage under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, so there’s no longer coverage for these components. The warranty also paid to recharge the coolant for the first year unless it was needed for other warranty work.
Paint Warranty
If there were any flaws in the paint job or body of your 2011 Honda Element when you purchased it, they should have been brought to the attention of the dealer immediately. Honda doesn’t offer warranties related to the appearance of its vehicles.
Battery Warranty
The original 12-volt battery that came with your 2011 Honda Element was covered for three years or 36,000 miles under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. It paid for replacement costs, installation, and labor. The coverage has expired.
Tire Warranty
Honda doesn’t provide a Tire Warranty. The tires on your 2011 Element had a separate warranty directly from the manufacturer. In the glove box, there was a warranty statement for the tires. Your Honda dealer can help you contact the manufacturer if you need help with warranty information.
Emissions Warranty
A Federal Emissions Warranty covered the parts of your emissions system and came with the 2011 Honda Element. This warranty was good for three years or 36,000 miles, or 50,000 miles in California and other select states under the California Emissions Warranty.
Some parts had additional coverage for seven years or 70,000 miles. This warranty is expired. Under the standards of the Clean Air Act, parts like the catalytic converter and emissions computers had coverage for eight years or 80,000 miles, but this coverage has also lapsed.
2011 Honda Element Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase
Before your New Vehicle Limited Warranty expired, you could have purchased a Honda Care extended warranty plan. This would have extended your warranty coverage to eight years or 120,000 miles. Even this coverage would be expired now.
2011 Honda Element Extended Warranty Available Now
Because your New Vehicle Limited Warranty is no longer providing coverage for your 2011 Element, you may want to consider an extended warranty from a third party. This type of warranty can give you the financial relief you need if your vehicle requires expensive repairs.
