Factory Warranty
2012 Honda Ridgeline Basic Warranty
The 2012 Honda Ridgeline had a three-year, 36,000-mile Manufacturer’s Warranty, also called the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, with coverage starting on the original date of leasing or delivery. As of 2022, this coverage is expired.
The Basic Warranty covered all parts from bumper to bumper, excluding the paint, glass, and tires.
2012 Honda Ridgeline Powertrain Warranty
The 2012 Honda Ridgeline had a five-year, 60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty that covered key powertrain components like the engine, transmission, drivetrain system, and transaxle. As of 2022, this is expired.
This warranty included coverage for all the various components within the powertrain, including but not limited to:
- Engine cylinder block, head, and all internal parts
- Timing chain or belt and cover
- Oil pump and pan
- Engine mounts
- Water pump
- Seals and gaskets
- Timing gaskets and gears
- Flywheel
- Valve covers
- Exhaust and intake manifolds
- Engine and powertrain control module
- Fuel pump
- Torque converter
- Transfer case and internal parts
- Transmission control module
- Front and rear hubs and bearings
- Propeller shafts
- Universal joints
- Driveshafts
- Constant velocity joints
Corrosion Perforation Warranty
The 2012 Honda Ridgeline had a five-year, unlimited mileage Rust Perforation Limited Warranty that covered any body panels that completely rusted from the inside out. This coverage has expired.
The Corrosion Perforation Warranty did not transfer between owners. Its coverage only applied to the truck’s original owner.
Air Conditioning Warranty
The air conditioning system fell under the original Basic Warranty offered by Honda for three years or 36,000 miles. It has expired and excluded coverage for an air conditioner refrigerant charge after the first year of ownership unless required as part of a warranty repair.
Paint Warranty
The New Vehicle Limited Warranty on the 2012 Honda Ridgeline did not cover paint, with the exception of flaws noted upon delivery. These flaws would typically have been corrected by the dealership prior to transferring ownership.
Honda’s Corrosion Perforation Warranty did not cover rust caused by damage to the paint, nor did it include coverage for paint matching.
Battery Warranty
Unlike previous years, the 12-volt battery did not have a separate warranty in 2012. Instead, it qualified for coverage under the Basic Warranty, which lasted for three years or 36,000 miles. This warranty has expired.
Tire Warranty
The tires on the 2012 Honda Ridgeline qualified for warranty coverage issued by the tire manufacturer, not the vehicle manufacturer. You would need to contact the tire manufacturer directly to determine whether any warranty coverage remains in effect.
Honda obtained tires from the following original equipment manufacturers for the 2012 Honda Ridgeline:
The dealership that sold the 2012 Honda Ridgeline may be able to assist you with getting in contact with the manufacturer.
Emissions Warranty
Honda’s Federal Emissions Warranties protected the emissions system for three years or 36,000 miles. Ridgelines sold in California and states following its stricter emission standards were covered for three years or 50,000 miles, with specific parts covered for seven years or 70,000 miles. All of this coverage has expired.
In addition to California, drivers in California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington were covered under the California Emissions Warranty rather than the Federal Emissions Warranty.
In accordance with the Clean Air Act, Honda also offered coverage for the onboard diagnostic system, catalytic converter, and engine computer for eight years or 80,000 miles. If the Ridgeline failed an EPA-approved emissions test during the coverage period, Honda agreed to make the repairs needed to ensure the truck would comply with emissions standards. However, this coverage has also expired.

This type of extended warranty did transfer to future owners, but it has now expired.
