Factory Warranty

2021 Honda HR-V Basic Warranty

On the day you took possession of your 2021 Honda HR-V, the New Vehicle Limited Warranty went into effect. This warranty is good for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. It will pay to repair or replace parts that are damaged due to poor workmanship. You still have coverage under this warranty unless you’ve reached the 36,000-mile cap. For the first six months you owned the vehicle, the key fob and remote batteries were covered, as were the OEM wiper blade inserts. This warranty won’t pay for:

• Cleaning and polishing
• Deterioration from normal wear and tear
• Filling fluids that aren’t part of another warranty repair
• Replacing parts that wear out due to use, such as brake pads

2021 Honda HR-V Powertrain Warranty

Your 2021 Honda HR-V’s Powertrain Limited Warranty starting on the same day as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty and lasts for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The Powertrain Limited Warranty will pay to repair the engine, transmission, transaxle, and front-wheel-drive system. Some parts of the powertrain may be covered under other warranties. Parts this warranty covers include:

Engine

• Cylinder block and head
• Timing gears and gaskets
• Valve covers
• Oil pan and pump
• Fuel pump
• Intake and exhaust manifolds

Transmission and transaxle

• Case
• Torque converter
• Transfer case
• Seals and gaskets

Front-wheel-drive system

• Final drive housing
• Driveshafts
• Constant velocity joints
• Front hubs and bearings

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

For five years, the original owner of the 2021 Honda HR-V can use the Rust Perforation Limited Warranty to have rusted panels on the vehicle repaired or replaced. This warranty has no mileage limit, but there are some exceptions to what it will pay for. Your HR-V still has coverage under this warranty, but it won’t pay to replace or repair rusted underbody panels. It also doesn’t cover rust from:

• Road hazards or debris, such as rocks
• Immersion in sand, water, or mud
• Misuse or abuse
• Corrosive gas or industrial fallout

Air Conditioning Warranty

The air conditioning system in your 2021 Honda HR-V is covered under the Federal Emissions Warranty for three years or 36,000 miles (three years or 50,000 miles under the California Emissions Warranty). You can have your coolant recharged for two years or 24,000 miles, unless refrigerant is required to perform a warranty repair. Both of these coverages are still in effect.

Paint Warranty

Unless your paint job is damaged due to a defect in workmanship, Honda won’t pay to repair any flaws that happen after you take possession of the vehicle. If there are flaws in your paint job, you should bring them to the attention of the dealer immediately for repair.

Battery Warranty

The 2021 Honda HR-V’s original battery is covered for the first three years or 36,000 miles of ownership under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. This coverage is therefore still active.

Tire Warranty

Honda doesn’t provide a warranty for the tires on its vehicles. Instead, the manufacturer has a warranty that covers your 2021 HR-V tires. You can find a tire warranty statement on Honda’s website or contact your dealer if you need help getting information on your tire warranty.

Emissions Warranty

Under the Federal Emissions Warranty, your 2021 Honda HR-V emissions system is covered for three years or 36,000 miles. In California and other select states, the mileage cap for coverage is 50,000. This warranty will pay for repairs on parts of your emissions system. Some parts may be covered for seven years or 70,000 miles. Honda is also required to provide a warranty on certain emissions parts for eight years or 80,000 miles because of the Clean Air Act. The basic coverage under this warranty includes these parts:

• Evaporative and refueling emissions control systems
• Exhaust gas recirculation system
• Exhaust system
• Ignition system
• Fuel injection system

• Transmission control system
• Intake air system

2021 Honda HR-V Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase

All new Honda vehicles are eligible for the Honda Care plan, which you can purchase until the New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires. As long as your HR-V has less than 36,000 miles, you are still eligible for this plan.
