1. 1973 XB GT Ford Falcon

As seen in: Mad Max

Filmmakers modified the 1973 Ford Falcon XB Gt Coupe with a Concorde-style nose cone, wheel arch flares, spoilers, supercharger, and more to create this mean-looking ride that became known as the “Pursuit Special” in this cult film.

2. 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse

As seen in: The Fast and the Furious

The late Paul Walker made his first appearance in the iconic Fast and the Furious movies in this car, which he raced against Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel). Love them or hate them, these movies have great cars.

What we love:

3. 1985 Modena GT Spyder California

As seen in: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Originally built to resemble the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California, this knock-off cost a lot less but still left a big impression on Ferris Bueller fans when it plummeted into a ravine.

What we love:

4. 1977 British Leyland Mini 1000

As seen in: Mr. Bean

The hilariously painful to watch Mr. Bean never goes anywhere without this trusty citron green sidekick.

What we love:

5. 1969 Dodge Charger

Good ole’ “General Lee” is one of the most recognizable vehicles in movie and television history. Numerous ‘69 Chargers played the role throughout the 1970s and 80s.

7. Delorean DMC-12

It may have been one of the most infamous automotive disasters of all time, but the Delorean still stole the show in Back to the Future.

What we love:

8. 1951 Ford F1 4×2

As seen in: Sanford and Son

One look at that truck and you can already hear that funky theme song, can’t you? The salvage truck that was purchased and fully preserved by 2 huge Sanford & Son fans in 2014 may not be quite as coveted as some of these cars on our list, but it’s certainly an icon of television history.

What we love:

9. 1974 Pontiac Firebird Esprit

As seen in: The Rockford Files

Jim Rockford (James Garner) defined 1970s cool while dodging criminals in this Sierra gold Firebird Esprit.

What we love:

10. 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429

As seen in: John Wick

John Wick loved 3 things: His wife, his dog, and his ‘69 Mustang. This is one of our all-time-favorite cars, featured in everything from Gone in 60 Seconds to Misery. But John Wick’s Boss 429 is one of the best-looking (and most powerful) beasts ever made.

What we love:

11. 2006 Subaru WRX

As seen in: Baby Driver

Starring a young man suffering from tinnitus and his not-so-subtle red-hot getaway car, Baby Driver is loaded with impressive stunts choreographed to the film’s soundtrack. If you like wild rides that keep you on the edge of your seat, you’ll love this.

What we love:

12. 1963 Aston Martin DB5

  1. My favorite is the Sunbeam Tiger driven by Maxwell Smart on the show Get Smart. There were about 7000 Tigers built by the Rootes Group in England based on the Sunbeam Alpine but with 260 or later 289 Ford V8s between 1965 and 1967. The conversion was mostly designed by Carroll Shelby. About 5000 were sold in the US.
I had three of them between 1965 an 1983.

  2. Religious drivers should recall the 1977 AMC Pacer that John Denver drove in the movie “Oh God!” It was funny and different at the time.

  3. I’ve always wanted the, I believe it was the black 1983 Firebird Transam. I loved watching KNIGHT RIDER in the 80’s, so I’ve always wanted that car.👍

  4. I have two cars in mind. #1 is the used ’78 hardtop Trans Am that I bought in ’81 with 83,000+ miles on it. Big block Pontiac 400ci. with 350 3 spd hydromatic trany, and 390 highspeed positive traction rearend. Number two: My 1973 Datsun 240Z bought brand new off of the showroom floor. Amazing little car! 132mph in 3rd gear, bark the tires going into 4th and on the way past mph!

  5. I had a 66 GTO had stock 389 cu in which I bored .030 over adding oversize pistons, tri-power, headers & rv cam….total rebuild. Had to add power steering , electric fuel pump (high volume). Posi rear with M50s & Hearst 4-sp.
Absolutely fast!!! Burn those 50s in all four years & not one miss…..miss that car!!! The best.

  6. Thank you for this, it brought back so many good memories while sharing watching these shows and those awesome cars with my family growing up! My favorite is the dukes of hazards 1969 Dodge Charger! How’d they pull off all those stunts with this car and how many did they ruin doing it lol

  7. You forgot one car the 1968 Ford Mustang fastback bullet mustang from the movie bullet Greatest car chase scene in movie history

  8. The ‘95 Eclipse with that paint job all day. Always been one of my faves since the first film came out. I’ve got multiple model cars of it since that’s the closest I’ll ever come to owning one. Also (not shown on this list but worth mentioning) the 1981 Dodge M4S Turbo Interceptor from the movie The Wraith. Frickin’ sick.

  9. american graffiti
there are so many good cars in that classic movie
    32 ford
    55 chevy
    56 t bird
there is sn edsel and an impala
and the 51 merc is to “drag” for…

  10. My favorite car was the 1964 Studebaker {AVANTI}.
I bought one just after I left the Air Force. a 289 engine with big Super Charger. I always won any drag or quarter mile race, enjoyed watching
    Corvette’s eating my exhaust.

  11. My ultimate automotive passion car was the Volvo P1800 driven by Simon Templar (Roger Moore) in the stylish British drama “The Saint”.

  12. The 1966 Black Beauty from the Green Hornet TV series and Crockett’s Black Ferrari Spyder from Miami Vice.

  13. GREEN FORD MUSTANG SEEN IN BULLET, OLDER MOVIE BUT THE BEST CHASE SCENE EVER FILMED AS FAR AS I AM CONCERN. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OTHER CHASE SCENES, BUT BULLET BEATS THEM ALL IN MY EYES.

    1. I totally agree! And, from what I’ve learned, when Bullitt’s Mustang ends up sliding into the ditch at the end of the chase scene, that was NOT planned! The motorcycle rider (that prompted “the slide”) evidently went around the barrier that “supposedly” closed off the road to civilian traffic. And, that was Steve McQueen personal “real-life” Mustang! Damn- now i GOTTA go watch the movie again… do DVDs ever wear out?!

  14. Are you serious? The “scooby-doo” van makes the list and Steve McQueen’s Mustang from Bullitt doesn’t??? It’s only the best real car chase ever recorded on film.

  15. I am still waiting to try my fixd. The post brings back memories and I love the different cars. I find it great to hear from you at fixd.

  16. The 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is my favorite, not necessarily the movie, but love the car. I’m a child of the 60’s!!

  17. I can’t believe you didn’t have a 1967 GTO of which I had one along with my 1969 SS Chevy 396. Back in those days General Motors was king and those 2 cars were in many drag races. One race was right in front of the White House but the police stopped us so we just sat there.

    1. I agree with Peter — I had a 67 Lemans I bought brand new wen I rotated back to the States from Japan. I sold that car with almost 200K miles on it and the engine was never touched except when we went to unleaded gas. I wish I still had that car.

  18. Love Mustangs, have had mustangs since the early 90s, love Chevelle’s also, but you didn’t have any here

  19. Where is Knightrider (Pontiac Trans Am), Gone In 60 Seconds, Bullitt, Transporter 1/2/3 (Audi S8), Ronin, Italian Job or Cannonball Run?

  20. 007 Aston of course. You forgot to mention the cookie cutters on the wheels and the 50 cal machine guns.

  21. That Delorean just blew me away and I was no teenager, more like a mid 50’s down to earth “old lady”, but those doors ….oh, those doors. Not so enamored of it once I knew all the details but there was no denying those upswept doors.

  22. Out of those I would choose John Wick’s mustang but the spider from Ferris Buelhler and the Aston Martim are a close second.
I like Eleanor from Gone in 60 seconds too

  23. You didn’t show it but I’m partial to the 1968 Pontiac Firebird. So I’ll go with the Firebird you show.
