When it comes to manufacturer warranties, it doesn’t get much more comprehensive than the Jaguar warranty. Whether you buy a new or used Jaguar, their selection of warranties have got you covered.
Jaguar EliteCare
Jaguar is known for producing high performing luxury cars with only the best quality materials. It is therefore not surprising that Jaguar introduced their EliteCare warranty in 2016, which is their most comprehensive warranty to date. It includes:
Basic New Vehicle Limited Warranty
This bumper-to-bumper warranty includes a five-year or 60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. This includes the powertrain, so unlike some manufacturers, there is no separate powertrain warranty. It’s all covered in one.
Complimentary Scheduled Maintenance
Not only is your Jaguar protected from manufacturing defects, but it also includes all of the required maintenance during the five-year/60,000-mile warranty period at no cost to you. Most manufacturers do not include maintenance under warranty, so this is an exceptionally robust protection package.
You can get a detailed Passport to Service Schedule Table from your Jaguar retailer which describes the required service and maintenance at each interval. Bear in mind that Jaguar publishes any updates to the Passport to Service only to your retailer, so remember to check with them regularly for any updates. Sticking to your service and maintenance schedule is critical for the car’s long-term durability, and failing to comply with the schedule may result in your warranty becoming invalid.
It is also imperative to take your car to an authorized Jaguar retailer for any maintenance services because Jaguar-trained technicians are best equipped to work on the car. They use very sophisticated diagnostic equipment to identify problems you may not even have been aware of. This also ensures that any replaced parts are genuine Jaguar parts. This warranty does, however, exclude regular wear and tear, accidental damage, neglect, lack of maintenance, and personal modifications.
Jaguar Roadside Assistance
EliteCare includes roadside assistance for five years or 60,000 miles, which can also be extended after the factory warranty expires if you do not prefer third-party coverage. You can also use the Jaguar roadside assistance for a price if you’re no longer under any warranty. The Jaguar roadside assistance includes flat tire changes, battery jump starts, emergency fuel delivery, and towing services. You also get trip interruption coverage where Jaguar will cover your alternative transport costs, or if you get stranded more than 50 miles from home, reimbursement for hotel accommodation and meals.
The Jaguar roadside assistance center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can call them at 800-4-JAGUAR, or 800-452-4827. You will need to provide the following when making an assistance call:
- Name
- Location
- Registration number
- A brief description of the incident
- Contact phone number
- Description of car damage in the event of an accident
- Details of anyone else involved in the accident
Paint Surface Warranty
This Jaguar warranty is independent from the EliteCare warranty and only covers paintwork repair relating to manufacturer defects. This means that any other cosmetic or environmental damage isn’t covered. This warranty is only valid for four years or 50,000 miles.
Corrosion Protection Warranty
This is also a stand-alone warranty that covers all parts of the bodywork panels affected by perforation, which will be repaired or replaced by an authorized service center. This warranty is valid for six years, including unlimited mileage during that time, regardless of change of ownership.

Jaguar InControl
InControl is a suite of complementary applications and services Jaguar provides. This includes entertainment, navigation, a Meridian sound system, and driver assistance. With InControl, you can connect to your Jaguar from anywhere in the world with your smartphone.
Jaguar I-Pace Battery Health Coverage
When you buy a fully electric Jaguar model, the battery is covered for eight years or 100,000 miles. You can redeem this warranty if the battery drops below a 70% health percentage during that time.
Extended Jaguar Warranty
All cars come with time or mileage-limited warranties because the risk of significant repair costs is minimal for manufacturers in cars under 5 years old. Once your Jaguar warranty expires, you have the option to buy their extended Vehicle Protection Plan. You must buy this extended Jaguar warranty at least 1,000 miles before the original warranty expires. This warranty provides extended coverage on most mechanical components of the vehicle, including:
- Engine components
- Powertrain control unit
- Clutch
- Manual/Automatic transmission
- Four-wheel-drive system (where applicable)
- Differential(s)
- Axles
- Suspension
- Prop shaft
- Steering
- Fuel system
- Braking system
- Electrical systems
- Starter motor
- Electronic ignition
- Diesel injection systems
- Turbocharger/Supercharger
- Air conditioning
- Cooling system
- Catalytic converter
- Infotainment
Jaguars have a reputation for not being the most reliable cars, and can cost you a substantial amount of money to replace if you don’t have an extended Jaguar warranty. This can range between $634 for an axle shaft seal replacement to $1,803 for a new AC evaporator. Some additional features include travel protection, original equipment manufacturer parts, claim limits up to the retail price of the car, and Jaguar-approved technician repairs.
Jaguar Certified Pre-Owned Program
Jaguar also offers a Certified Pre-Owned Program where they sell trade-in or lease-returned cars. Any Jaguars sold through this program must be less than 5 years old with under 60,000 miles, and must undergo a 165-point mechanical, electrical, and safety test. If the car fails this test, it will not qualify for the Certified Pre-Owned coverage of seven years or 100,000 miles with roadside assistance included.
Eligibility and Transfers
Another great feature of the Jaguar warranty is that it applies to all U.S. specification Jaguar cars sold within the U.S. and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico by any authorized dealerships. Your coverage is activated on the date of sale and is fully transferable to any subsequent owners. Lastly, any Jaguars sold under the Overseas Military Delivery Program may also be eligible for warranty coverage, but only within very specific limits.
Jaguar appears to have a competitive advantage in terms of the scope and time or mileage limits on their new car warranties. In addition, their extended warranty provides great peace of mind if you do not want to trade your car in for a new one every five years.
