What Was Included in Your 2005 Honda S2000 Warranty?

2005 Honda S2000 Basic Warranty
Honda’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty covered the 2005 Honda S2000 for three years or 36,000 miles. This expired coverage was available for most vehicle components, except for the emissions control systems, accessories, batteries, and tires.
The warranty date began on the date the vehicle was first delivered to the owner or the date on which it was leased. It covered air conditioner refrigerant for the first year, and it covered wheel balancing and alignment for one year or 12,000 miles.
2005 Honda S2000 Powertrain Warranty
The 2005 Honda S2000 did not come with a separate Powertrain Warranty. Honda included the powertrain components as part of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which lasted for three years or 36,000 miles before they expired.
Corrosion Perforation Warranty
The Rust Perforation Limited Warranty repaired or replaced rusted body panels for five years, regardless of mileage. This warranty only covered panels rusted through from the inside. Before it expired, only the vehicle’s original owner could use this warranty policy.
Air Conditioning Warranty
Honda did not offer a separate air conditioning policy for the 2005 Honda S2000. However, the air conditioner was covered for three years or 36,000 miles under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty which has since expired.
Honda did not cover paint under any of its warranty options, nor did it cover paint matching. If the owner noticed any defects, Honda encouraged them to notify a Honda dealer right away.
Honda offered an Original Equipment Battery Limited Warranty for the 2005 Honda S2000 for three years with no mileage limit. During that time period, Honda covered all the costs of diagnosis, labor, installation, and the cost of the replacement for a defective battery.
The Honda S2000 tires were warranted separately from the vehicle by the tire manufacturers. Owners can contact a Honda dealership to get more information about the tire warranty.
The Federal Emissions Warranties covered the 2005 Honda S2000 emissions control system for three years or 36,000 miles. For those in California and the 13 states that adopted the California Emissions Warranties, their emissions components were covered for three years or 50,000 miles.
The Federal Emissions Warranties had two parts. First, the Emissions-related Design and Defects Warranty that covered material and workmanship defects. Second, the Emissions Performance Warranty ensured the vehicle met its EPA-approved emissions tests.
The Federal Emissions Warranties were provided in addition to the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
The emissions systems covered in this warranty included but were not limited to the intake air system, transmission control system, fuel injection system, ignition system, and exhaust system. This warranty has expired.
The warranties did not cover failures or malfunctions that resulted from abuse, accidents, or misuse of the vehicle. Additionally, they did not cover maintenance items like hoses, belts, or spark plugs.
Honda abides by the Clean Air Act, which requires manufacturers to be responsible for emissions components. Honda covers some emissions components, like the engine computer and catalytic converter, for eight years or 80,000 miles.

2005 Honda S2000 Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase
Upon purchasing the 2005 Honda S2000, owners may have received an offer for an extended warranty. An extended warranty covers repairs and replacements beyond the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Honda Care extended coverage for up to eight years or 120,000 miles.

Honda offers a Seat Belt Limited Warranty that applies for the lifetime of the vehicle. This means that if your seat belt stops functioning normally, Honda will still replace or repair it. However, Honda will not replace seat belts for comfort or cosmetic reasons.
The Replacement Parts Limited Warranty covered all genuine Honda parts installed by a Honda dealer for one year or 12,000 miles. Honda parts not installed by a Honda dealer were covered for one year from the date of purchase.
Replacement batteries bought from a Honda dealer were covered for a five years. If a replacement battery was defective, a new replacement battery was covered in full for the first two years. Prorated coverage was available for three additional years under the Replacement Battery Limited Warranty.
Honda offers a Replacement Muffler Lifetime Limited Warranty. The warranty covers the replacement muffler for as long as you own the vehicle.
