What Your 2014 Honda Odyssey Warranty Covers
The 2014 Honda Odyssey warranty offered comprehensive coverage on the minivan, though much of the coverage has likely expired. Still, it’s helpful to understand what was once covered and what might still be covered to get an idea of what kind of coverage you could possibly have with a new extended warranty.
Your car warranty is split into several different areas of coverage, with some aspects of the vehicle being warranted multiple times and other parts being warranted entirely separately. Additionally, it’s helpful to understand how your warranty term is expressed. Typically, a warranty period is represented by both a number of years and number of miles, with the warranty expiring depending on which threshold you meet first.
To make the Odyssey’s warranty coverage easier to understand, we’ve compiled this handy table that shows all the basic factory warranties at a glance.

Factory Warranty
2014 Honda Odyssey Basic Warranty
The New Vehicle Limited Warranty for the 2014 Odyssey lasted for three years or 36,000 miles, depending on which came first. It covered virtually every aspect of the vehicle that could potentially go wrong due to a manufacturer error or defect. Some of the aspects covered under this warranty, like the powertrain, had additional coverage. Some parts, like the tires, were warranted separately.
2014 Honda Odyssey Powertrain Warranty
With the Powertrain Limited Warranty, you had coverage for five years or 60,000 miles, and it specifically covered the engine, drivetrain, transmission, and all the other important factors under the hood that keep the Odyssey moving. Just note that you would’ve had to maintain proper operation of the vehicle to make a claim on this warranty.
Corrosion Perforation Warranty
In accordance with the Rust Perforation Limited Warranty, you had coverage for five years with no mileage limits. Any body panels that were replaced by using this warranty, however, are still only covered by the original warranty. Instead of resetting the five-year limit, they still abide by it, so it’d all be expired by now.
Air Conditioning Warranty
The air conditioning was warranted as part of the Federal Emissions Warranty, which was good for three years or 36,000 miles. It was also covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, but that put a specific limit on air conditioning refrigerants. Any refrigerant replacement was only covered for two years.
Paint Warranty
While there was no paint warranty for the 2014 Odyssey, the paint was covered as part of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. That means it was covered for three years or 36,000 miles. Just note that this only worked for paint defects and didn’t qualify when it came to fixing paint damage from an accident or paint matching.
Battery Warranty
The original equipment battery was covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty for three years or 36,000 miles. As of 2022, this coverage has expired for the 2014 Honda Odyssey.
Tire Warranty
Tires are warranted by the tire manufacturer rather than by Honda, so they’re not included as part of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. You’ll have to contact your tire manufacturer directly to learn more about the tire warranty. Your local Honda dealer can point you in the right direction.
Emissions Warranty
The Odyssey’s Federal Emissions Warranty lasted for three years or 36,000 miles (up to 50,000 miles if you live in a state that goes by the California standard). The Clean Air Act, however, requires some parts like the engine computer, catalytic converter, and onboard diagnostics to be covered for eight years or 80,000 miles.

2014 Honda Odyssey Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase
While the details of any extended warranties available when you purchased your 2014 Odyssey (known as vehicle service contracts) will vary based on the dealer, they generally extended the New Vehicle Limited Warranty to eight years or 120,000 miles. Even that, however, would’ve likely expired by now.
2014 Honda Odyssey Extended Warranty Available Now
Considering how much coverage a good warranty can offer, a lot of drivers are opting for new extended warranties even on cars that are relatively old. Vehicles much older than the 2014 Odyssey are eligible for new extended warranties, so your options may be better than you think.

FAQs
Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about the 2014 Honda Odyssey warranty.
What Happens if I Need a Replacement Battery?
According to the warranty, you may still be covered for part of the cost of a replacement battery. Assuming you’re on the last four months of warranty coverage, 5% of the cost of the battery will be given to you in the form of a credit that goes toward purchasing a new battery at the current retail price. Any labor and installation charges are on you to pay.
Is the Warranty Transferable?
The warranty used to be transferable, but the time requirements to do so have since expired. Initially, the entire factory warranty could be transferred to a new owner if the transfer was done within the limit of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty period, which was three years or 36,000 miles. In fact, this transfer could have happened every day if necessary through hundreds of owners as long as the Odyssey was still under its basic warranty.
When Do Warranty Periods Begin?
Any warranty period for the 2014 Odyssey will have begun on the initial date of purchase. This is the case even if the warranty was transferred to another owner. The warranty period never resets. If, for example, the warranty is transferred to a new owner a year in at 10,000 miles, then the new owner’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty period would be two years or 26,000 miles.
What Is the Odyssey's Timing Belt Warranty?
The timing belt is part of the Powertrain Warranty, which includes just about every internal engine part, and the warranty coverage was good for five years or 60,000 miles. For 2014 Odyssey models, however, this time would have already passed.
With so much coverage to offer, it’s clear why so many drivers are opting for new extended warranties for their old vehicles. With an extended warranty on your side, you can drive your 2014 Odyssey with peace of mind.
