Factory Warranty
2022 Honda Passport Basic Warranty
The Basic Warranty for the 2022 Honda Passport covers nearly every aspect of the vehicle, and it’s good for three years or 36,000 miles depending on which comes first.
While some parts of the vehicle are also covered under other warranties, the Basic Warranty applies to any problem caused by a defect.
2022 Honda Passport Powertrain Warranty
The 2022 Passport’s Powertrain Warranty coverage lasts five years or 60,000 miles, depending on which comes first. It covers various engine parts, including the engine itself, the drivetrain, and the transmission and transaxle.
Corrosion Perforation Warranty
Any panels that rust all the way through from the inside out are covered for five years without any mileage limits under the 2022 Passport’s Factory Warranty. If you use this warranty to replace a body panel, the new panel is covered for the remainder of the five-year warranty, not for an additional five years.
Air Conditioning Warranty
There is no separate air conditioning warranty, but it is covered under the Basic Warranty of three years or 36,000 miles. Refrigerant refills are only covered for the first two years or 24,000 miles.
Paint Warranty
While there is no paint warranty for the 2022 Passport, factory paint defects are included in the Basic Warranty. You and your dealer must identify these when you take delivery of your new Passport for them to be covered and repaired at no charge.
Paint damage from an accident is not covered. Additionally, paint matching is not covered even if the mismatched paint occurred during another warrantied repair.
Battery Warranty
The original 12-volt battery for the 2022 Passport is covered for three years or 36,000 miles under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. This is still in effect for this model.
Tire Warranty
The tires on your 2022 Passport are under warranty from their own manufacturer, not by Honda. The warranty details depend on your tire manufacturer, as the Passport can be outfitted with several different brands. Your local Honda dealer can help you get in touch with them directly.
Emissions Warranty
The Federal Emissions Warranty covers your entire emission system for three years or 36,000 miles. If your Passport was purchased in California or another state that follows its stricter emission requirements, it’s covered for three years or 50,000 miles, with some parts covered for seven years or 70,000 miles. These states include Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.
Some aspects of your emissions systems, including the engine computer, onboard diagnostics, and catalytic converter, are required to be covered for eight years or 80,000 miles thanks to the Clean Air Act.
