Factory Warranty

2004 Honda Odyssey Basic Warranty

The New Vehicle Limited Warranty for the 2004 Honda Odyssey provided coverage for three years or 36,000 miles. Coverage applied to most components in the vehicle, including the powertrain. This coverage has since expired.

This basic coverage was available for problems that stemmed from defective parts and poor factory work. It did not cover vehicle accidents or issues caused by vehicle abuse or misuse.

2004 Honda Odyssey Powertrain Warranty

The 2004 Honda Odyssey warranty program does not list a separate Powertrain Warranty. The powertrain was encompassed in the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which was valid for three years or 36,000 miles.

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

Closeup disassembled car automatic transmission gear part on workbench at garage or repair factory station for fix service or maintenance. Vehicle part detail. Complex industrial mechanism background.

The Corrosion Perforation Warranty was valid for five years with unlimited mileage. The coverage included the repair or replacement of body panels rusted through completely from the inside.

Honda did not cover damage caused by vehicle abuse or misuse. Additionally, the policy did not cover rust or corrosion related to the vehicle’s submersion in water or mud.

Air Conditioning Warranty

The 2004 Honda Odyssey did not have a separate Air Conditioning Warranty. The air conditioner was covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Coverage expired after three years or 36,000 miles.

Paint Warranty

Honda did not cover paint and other cosmetic flaws for the 2004 Honda Odyssey. Honda dealers informed buyers who discovered defects to work with their dealers upon delivery of the new vehicle to discuss repair options.

Battery Warranty

The Original Equipment Battery Limited Warranty for the 2004 Honda Odyssey lasted for three years with no mileage limit. Honda would cover the full cost of replacing the original battery for the first two years, and offered a 50% credit toward the cost of replacing the original battery during the third year.

Tire Warranty

Honda did not offer a Tire Warranty for the 2004 Honda Odyssey. Instead, the tire manufacturers offered coverage. This coverage has now expired, and no 2004 vehicles should be running their original tires anyway.

Emissions Warranty

The Federal Emissions Warranty coverage included key components of the emissions system for three years or 36,000 miles. In California, Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont, coverage was extended to three years or 50,000 miles, and seven years or 70,000 miles for certain components. All of this coverage has expired.

Each of these warranties covered components including the exhaust gas recirculation system, fuel injection system, intake air system, VTEC system, ignition system, and transmission control system.

The Clean Air Act requires manufacturers to provide additional coverage for some key components of the emissions system, particularly the diagnostics, engine computer, and catalytic converter. This means Honda was required to cover those parts for eight years or 80,000 miles, whichever occurred first. This has also expired.
