2004 Honda Pilot Basic Warranty

The 2004 Honda Pilot Basic Warranty, also called the Honda New Vehicle Limited Warranty, covered most defective parts for three years or 36,000 miles. This warranty has expired for the 2004 Honda Pilot.

The Honda Pilot New Vehicle Limited Warranty didn’t cover the replacement of emissions control systems, normal wear and tear, fluid changes, broken or chipped glass, or cosmetic flaws.

2004 Honda Pilot Powertrain Warranty

The 2004 Honda Pilot didn’t come with a separate Powertrain Warranty, but the mechanical components were included in the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, which covered the vehicle for up to three years or 36,000 miles. The 2004 Honda Pilot is no longer covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

The Honda Rust Perforation Limited Warranty covered the replacement of rusted and perforated body panels for five years with no mileage limit. Rust without perforation was covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

The Honda Rust Perforation Limited Warranty didn’t cover surface rust, rusting of replaced parts, rusting from abuse or misuse, or rusting from road hazards. It also didn’t cover paint matching services or rust from the immersion of the vehicle in water.

Air Conditioning Warranty

The 2004 Honda Pilot wasn’t covered by a separate air conditioning warranty. The New Vehicle Limited Warranty did cover air conditioner refrigerant charging for the first year of vehicle ownership.

Some extended warranties might cover air conditioning on the 2004 Honda Pilot today. Air conditioning repairs and recharges are some of the most commonly needed repairs for older vehicles.

Paint Warranty

The 2004 Honda Pilot didn’t come with a separate paint warranty, but rusted paint was covered under the new Vehicle Limited Warranty for up to three years or 36,000 miles. The Corrosion Perforation Warranty also covered perforated body parts. The 2004 Honda Pilot is no longer covered under a Paint Warranty,

Battery Warranty

The original Equipment Battery Limited Warranty began on the same date as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. It covered the full cost of a replacement battery for up to two years. Honda would then reimburse a prorated amount for a new battery from year two to three.

Tire Warranty

All Honda vehicle tires are covered under a separate Manufacturer’s Warranty. The 2004 Honda Pilot New Vehicle Limited Warranty did include wheel balancing and alignment for one year or 12,000 miles.

2004 Honda Pilot Tire Warranties are held by Yokohama Tire Corp., Michelin Tire Corp., Goodyear Tire Co., Dunlop Tire Co., Bridgestone (USA) Inc., or Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. If you’re not sure who holds your tire warranty, you can reach out to your local Honda dealership.

Emissions Warranty

A Federal Emissions Warranty covered Honda emissions control systems for a minimum of three years or 36,000 miles. The 2004 Honda Emissions Warranty is now expired.

Some 2004 Honda Pilot drivers were also covered by a California Emissions Warranty for a minimum of three years or 50,000 miles. The California Emissions Warranty covered drivers in California, Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
