What Your 2010 Honda Odyssey Warranty Covers
The warranty on your 2010 Honda Odyssey covered many parts of the vehicle. When needed, you could easily get repairs and maintenance under your warranty without additional out-of-pocket expenses. Unfortunately, the Factory Warranty (also known as the Manufacturer’s Warranty) has expired. It is still helpful to know what the policy originally covered so you can look into extended warranty options that will renew this protection.
Warranties are divided among various types of coverage and might come from different sources. Tires, for example, are usually warrantied by the tire manufacturer instead of the auto dealership. Understanding how each type of coverage works and its limits is a key factor in saving money and getting the protection you need. For more information, check out our frequently asked questions below.

Factory Warranty
2010 Honda Odyssey Basic Warranty
The basic Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty for your 2010 Honda Odyssey lasted three years or 36,000 miles, depending on which came first. It has now expired. This warranty covered almost every area of the vehicle, so long as faults were factory or manufacturing errors that occurred during proper use.
2010 Honda Odyssey Powertrain Warranty
The Powertrain Warranty on the Honda Odyssey lasted for five years or 60,000 miles, and has now expired. It covered all the vehicle parts that help move the wheels. This includes the engine, drivetrain, axles, transmission, and more.
Corrosion Perforation Warranty
Honda offered a Corrosion Perforation Warranty that was good for five years with no mileage limit. This coverage replaced or repaired any body panels that rusted all the way through from the inside, including those already replaced under warranty.
It has since expired on all 2010 Honda Odyssey minivans.
Air Conditioning Warranty
The 2010 Honda Odyssey had no specific Air Conditioning Warranty. However, the air conditioning system was covered as part of the Basic Warranty of three years or 36,000 miles, which has now expired. Air conditioning refrigerant refills were only covered during the first year of ownership.
Paint Warranty
Honda did not offer a Paint Warranty on the 2010 Odyssey. The Basic Warranty only covered defects in materials or workmanship from the factory, which would have been addressed when the vehicle was purchased new.
Battery Warranty
The 2010 Honda Odyssey had an Original Equipment Battery Limited Warranty that fully covered the cost of replacing the battery for three years with unlimited mileage. This has since expired.
Tire Warranty
The 2010 Honda Odyssey had no Factory Tire Warranty. Instead, the tires were warrantied by the tire manufacturer. A 2010 vehicle’s original tires have likely worn out and been replaced by now anyway. New tires are often protected by tire manufacturer warranties. If you have trouble with your tires, contact the tire manufacturer.
Emissions Warranty
Your Federal Emissions Warranty covered repair and replacement costs for your car’s emissions system for three years or 36,000 miles. Vehicles sold in California and states that follow stricter emissions standards were covered for three years or 50,000 miles. Some parts were covered for seven years or 70,000 miles. These states include Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington. All of this coverage has now expired. Note that this coverage was only applicable for manufacturer defects. Any failures of emissions control systems caused by accidents, abuse, or leaded gasoline weren’t covered.
In addition, the Clean Air Act requires all manufacturers to cover the catalytic converter, onboard diagnostics, and engine computer for eight years or 80,000 miles. This, too, has expired.
2010 Honda Odyssey Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase
When you first purchased your new 2010 Honda Odyssey, you likely had the option to purchase a Honda Care extended warranty. The terms varied based on the individual dealership but typically began when the Basic Warranty expired, and lasted for up to eight years or 120,000 miles. If you bought this Extended Warranty, it would be expired by now.
2010 Honda Odyssey Extended Warranties Available Now
It is still possible to buy a third-party extended warranty for your 2010 Honda Odyssey. These warranties will vary based on the condition of your vehicle, its mileage, and the individual provider. They typically cost a few thousand dollars.

FAQs
What Voids the Warranty?
The warranty can be voided for several reasons, including environmental damage and manipulating the odometer. If the odometer has been tampered with, the warranty is voided automatically. Environmental damage includes damage resulting from hail, hurricanes, tornados, and earthquakes. Any damage caused by such events is not covered.
Can I Get a Lifetime Warranty?
Typically there are no lifetime warranties on your vehicle. The 2010 Odyssey comes with what Honda calls a “Replacement Exhaust Components Lifetime Limited Warranty.” But this only applies to the owner who purchased the replacement exhaust parts, not subsequent owners, so it is not a true lifetime warranty as Honda claims.
Can You Get a Warranty On a Used Odyssey?
Extended warranties are available for an Odyssey, no matter how old it is and who the original owner was. If you got your 2010 Odyssey only recently, you can still purchase a warranty and enjoy peace of mind knowing it covers some aspects of the vehicle.
If your factory warranty has expired and you’re looking to reduce out-of-pocket expenses, be sure to check out the FIXD+CARCHEX Vehicle Protection Plan.
