2020 Honda HR-V New Vehicle Limited Warranty
Whether you bought or leased your 2020 Honda HR-V, the New Vehicle Limited Warranty went into effect when you took delivery of the vehicle. This coverage is good for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. It will pay to repair or replace defective parts caused by poor workmanship. As long as your HR-V has fewer than 36,000 miles, this warranty is still valid. It only covered batteries for key fobs and remotes and wiper blade replacements for the first six months. Coverage not included in this warranty includes:
- Normal wear and tear
- Cleaning and polishing
- Adding fluids
- Damaged window glass
- Expendable parts such as brake pads and filters
2020 Honda HR-V Powertrain Limited Warranty
Under the Powertrain Limited Warranty, your 2020 Honda HR-V has coverage for the engine, transmission, transaxle, and drive system for five years or 60,000 miles. Honda will pay to repair or replace parts of these systems that are damaged due to poor quality or workmanship. Some parts might have additional coverage under other warranties. Unless your HR-V has more than 60,000 miles, this coverage is still good. If you have a front-wheel-drive system, the warranty covers these parts:
- Final drive housing
- Constant velocity joints
- Front hubs and bearings
- Seals and gaskets
If you have a rear-wheel-drive system, the warranty pays to replace these parts:
- Differential housing
- Propeller shafts
- Universal joints
- Constant velocity joints
- Rear hubs and bearings
- Seals and gaskets
Rust Perforation Limited Warranty
The Rust Perforation Limited Warranty went into effect the same day as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Only the 2020 HR-V’s original owner can make a claim using this warranty, but it’s good for five years and has no mileage limit. This coverage is still valid. If any of the panels on your SUV rust through completely, Honda will pay to repair or replace them. This warranty only covers the new panels until the original five-year period ends and won’t pay to repair or replace panels that rust from:
- Abuse or misuse
- Road hazards like rocks and debris
- Immersion in sand, mud, or water
- Corrosive gas or industrial fallout
Air Conditioning Warranty
Your air conditioning system falls under coverage from the Federal Emissions Warranty or California Emissions Warranty. Honda will pay to repair your air conditioner if it stops working due to faulty parts from the manufacturer for three years or 36,000 miles. Coolant recharging is covered for two years or 24,000 miles. The coolant recharging portion of the warranty is about to expire or already has if your HR-V has more than 24,000 miles on it, but the air conditioner is still under warranty.
The 2020 Honda HR-V warranty won’t pay for anything related to the appearance of your vehicle. Unless noted when taking possession of the vehicle, flaws in the paint job or the body of the vehicle are the owner’s responsibility.
The 2020 Honda HR-V’s original 12-volt battery is covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty for three years or 36,000 miles. This warranty is still in effect as of 2022.
All tires on Honda vehicles are warrantied by their manufacturer. These warranties typically have mileage caps and time limits. You can check Honda’s website to find a statement about tire warranties or contact your dealer if you need assistance with your tire warranty.
Federal Emissions Warranty
A Federal Emissions Warranty covers the emissions system in your 2020 Honda HR-V for three years or 36,000 miles. In California and other select states, this warranty lasts 50,000 miles. Certain parts of this system might be covered for seven years or 70,000 miles. Under the Clean Air Act’s standards, some emissions system parts are under warranty for up to eight years or 80,000 miles. You should still have coverage for your emissions system as long as you aren’t over the mileage cap.

You might still have the option to purchase this coverage, which includes roadside assistance, trip interruption coverage, and rental car assistance. The Factory Warranty doesn’t include these coverage options.
