2021 Honda Odyssey Basic Warranty
Your 2021 Honda Odyssey has a New Vehicle Limited Warranty that’s good for three years or 36,000 miles. This warranty will pay to replace or repair parts on the vehicle that are damaged due to poor workmanship or defective materials. Coverage started the day you took possession of the vehicle. The key fob and remote batteries and wiper blade inserts were only under warranty for the first six months, and the warranty won’t pay for damaged window glass. It also doesn’t cover adding fluids unless it’s part of other warranty work.
2021 Honda Odyssey Powertrain Warranty
Starting on the same day as your New Vehicle Limited Warranty, the Powertrain Limited Warranty for your 2021 Honda Odyssey went into effect. This coverage is good for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. Some parts may have coverage under other warranties. With this warranty, Honda will pay to repair parts of your engine, transmission, transaxle, and drive system. Here’s a breakdown of the covered components:
- Cylinder block and head
- Timing gears and gaskets
- Timing chain/belt and cover
- Valve covers
- Oil pan
- Oil pump
- Intake and exhaust manifolds
- Engine mounts
- Engine/powertrain control module
- Water pump
- Fuel pump
- Seals and gaskets
Transmission and transaxle
- Torque converter
- Transfer case
- Transmission/powertrain control module
- Seals and gaskets
- Final drive housing
- Constant velocity joints
- Front hubs and bearings
- Seals and gaskets
Corrosion Perforation Limited Warranty
As long as you are the original owner of the 2021 Honda Odyssey, you can use the Rust Perforation Limited Warranty for five years. This warranty has no mileage cap and will pay to repair or replace panels that rust through completely. If panels have rust that doesn’t penetrate completely or that’s caused by poor quality, the New Vehicle Limited Warranty will take care of repair costs. This warranty won’t cover any rust caused by:
- Road hazards or debris
- Misuse or abuse
- Corrosive gas or industrial fallout
- Immersion in sand, water, or mud
The warranty also won’t cover rust on underbody panels or parts of the vehicle other than the panels.
Air Conditioning Warranty
If you have problems with the air conditioning system in your 2021 Honda Odyssey, the Federal Emissions Warranty will cover repairs for three years or 36,000 miles. The air conditioning refrigerant can be recharged at no cost for two years or 24,000 miles.
Honda doesn’t warranty anything related to the appearance of your vehicle. If there was a defect in workmanship with the paint job or body of your 2021 Odyssey, it needed to be brought to the attention of the dealer immediately.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey’s original, 12-volt battery is covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty for three years or 36,000 miles. If your vehicle still has fewer than 36,000 miles on it, you may be eligible for a battery replacement completely free of charge.
You can find a statement for your tire warranty on Honda’s website, but they don’t provide the warranty. Instead, the manufacturer is responsible for your Tire Warranty. It also covers the spare tire if one is equipped.
The Federal Emissions Warranty pays to repair parts of your Odyssey’s emissions system that are faulty due to poor workmanship for three years or 36,000 miles. In some states, the emissions system is under warranty for up to 50,000 miles. Clean Air Act standards require Honda to cover some emissions system parts for eight years or 80,000 miles. There may be select parts that are covered for seven years or 70,000 miles, but this varies depending on the model and components in your vehicle. A few of the major components coved by the Federal Emissions Warranty are:
- Crankcase control system
- OBD system
- Ignition system
- Transmission control system
- Fuel injection system

2021 Honda Odyssey Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase
Honda Care is a warranty extension plan offered by the manufacturer that’s available until the New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires. You still have time to purchase this plan if your 2021 Odyssey has less than 36,000 miles. This extends your coverage to eight years or 120,000 miles. With this plan, you get roadside assistance, trip interruption coverage, and rental car reimbursement, which aren’t included with the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. You will have to get warranty work done at a Honda dealership when using this coverage plan.
2021 Honda Odyssey Extended Warranty Available Now
A 2021 Honda Odyssey with more than 36,000 miles is no longer eligible for the Honda Care plan. However, you can still get an extended warranty through a third party if you want the peace of mind that having a warranty can bring. It helps ease the financial burden of expensive repairs.

To learn more about your 2021 Honda Odyssey warranty and what it covers, read the answers to these frequently asked questions:
The Federal Emissions Warranty covers the exhaust system for your 2021 Honda Odyssey. It also comes with a Replacement Exhaust Components Limited Lifetime Warranty that pays to replace the muffler, A-pipe, and B-pipe on the vehicle for as long as it has the original parts. This warranty doesn’t cover exhaust components that weren’t originally installed by a Honda dealer or other parts of the exhaust system, such as gaskets, hangers, clamps, or mounting hardware.
Things that can void your warranty coverage include not properly maintaining the vehicle or driving it beyond its intended capabilities. For example, not getting the oil changed regularly could cause the parts to wear out more rapidly, and therefore, void the warranty. Check your owner’s manual or consult with your dealer to understand your car’s maintenance schedule and intended use.
Beginning on the same day as your New Vehicle Limited Warranty, your Seat Belt Limited Warranty went into effect. This coverage will pay to replace seat belts that are damaged due to poor quality materials or defects in workmanship. It covers repair costs for 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
All Honda vehicles have an ideal schedule for receiving regular maintenance. Luckily, the Honda Maintenance Minder will alert you when your Odyssey needs attention. Oil changes should happen at around 7,500 miles under normal use, but this can vary depending on how much you drive and the road conditions where you drive most often.
A 2021 Odyssey with a high-voltage battery has warranty coverage for eight years or 100,000 miles, while those with a replacement 12-volt battery have full replacement coverage for three years. This coverage pays for a portion of the battery replacement cost for an additional 64 months. The high-voltage battery will degrade over time, so the warranty will only replace it if it’s degrading at a faster rate than the expected range.
Coverage for your replacement 12-volt battery pays for labor and installation costs as well as the cost of the battery in the first three years, but labor and installation are your responsibility after that time period. It pays for the battery according to this chart:
- Months 37 to 45: 60%
- Months 46 to 55: 50%
- Months 56 to 65: 40%
- Months 66 to 75: 30%
- Months 76 to 85: 20%
- Months 86 to 95: 10%
- Months 96 to 100: 5%
