2006 Honda Civic Basic Warranty

The 2006 Honda Civic comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty that covers any repairs due to manufacturer defects.

While the 2006 Honda Civic is no longer covered under the Factory Warranty, you may still be able to purchase an Extended Warranty from a third-party provider.

The 2006 Honda Civic basic warranty excludes repairs from normal wear and tear, cleaning/polishing, fluid changes, air conditioning refrigerant charges, broken or chipped glass, cosmetic items, replacement of maintenance items, or wheel balancing and wheel alignment after one year or 12,000 miles.

2006 Honda Civic Powertrain Warranty

The 2006 Honda Civic’s Powertrain Warranty covers the engine and transmission for up to 5 years or 60,000 miles. This includes engine, transmission, front-wheel-drive, and rear-wheel drive system parts.

The 2006 Honda Civic is no longer covered by a Powertrain or Drivetrain Warranty. Engine or Transmission Warranties may be available through a third-party provider.

2006 Honda Civic Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase

The 2006 Honda Civic was only eligible for a warranty extension if you purchased it before the original Factory Warranty expired. Honda doesn’t offer any warranty extensions on the 2006 Honda Civic.

While you may not be able to get a warranty extension from Honda, one may be available through a third party. You can shop for warranties that cover important mechanical components like the engine or transmission.

2006 Honda Civic Air Conditioning Warranty

Honda doesn’t cover the air conditioning system after your Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty expires. Your air conditioning system may be covered if you purchase an Extended Warranty. However, coverage varies.

We checked and didn’t find any recalls on air conditioning for the 2006 Honda Civic. This doesn’t mean air conditioning problems aren’t possible, though.

2006 Honda Civic Paint Warranty

The 2006 Honda Civic warranty doesn’t cover paint damage unless the damage is due to rust perforation. Rust perforation is covered on the 2006 Honda Civic for up to five years with no mileage limit.

The 2006 Honda Civic Rust Perforation Warranty only covers rust perforation on the body panels. It doesn’t cover panels that were replaced after the sale of the vehicle or rust due to misuse, abuse, lack of maintenance, or from road hazards. The Rust Perforation Warranty also doesn’t cover rust from water immersion.

2006 Honda Civic Battery Warranty

The 2006 Honda Civic Battery Warranty covers the replacement of a defective battery for up to three years with no mileage limit. The Honda Replacement Battery Warranty covers replacement batteries for up to 100 years.

Honda doesn’t currently offer a Battery Warranty on the 2006 Honda Civic. However, 2006 Honda Civic owners may still be covered under the Honda Replacement Battery Warranty.

What Is the Honda Replacement Battery Warranty?

The Honda Replacement Battery Warranty covers all replacement batteries for up to 100 months, or eight years and four months. 2006 Honda Civic drivers will receive a battery replacement in the first year if they have a Battery Warranty, with a credit that decreases with each year.

2006 Honda Civic Tire Warranty

2006 Honda Civic original equipment tires may be under warranty from the tire manufacturer. Check with your tire manufacturer to find out more information about your tire warranty.

The Honda Civic Tire Warranty only covered defective tires. It didn’t cover damaged tires due to abuse or following an accident.

What Tires Are Included in the 2006 Honda Civic Tire Warranty?

The 2006 Honda Civic Tire Warranty covers Yokohama Tire Corp., Michelin Tire Corp., Dunlop Tire Co./Goodyear Tire Co., Bridgestone/Firestone Tech Support Services, and Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.

2006 Honda Civic Emissions Warranty

The 2006 Honda Civic Federal Emissions Warranty covers defective parts or emissions maintenance for up to three years/50,000 miles. This warranty covers all emissions systems approved by the federal government.

The Federal Emissions Warranty doesn’t include defective emissions caused by abuse, accidents, leaded gasoline use, or replacement parts.

How Do I Get Emissions Service?

Honda covers all repairs related to emissions at no charge. You can get emissions service by taking your 2006 Honda Civic to an authorized dealer. The Honda dealer has 30 days to repair the emissions problem before you’re able to take it somewhere else.

What Is the California Emissions Warranty?

The 2006 Honda Civic is covered by the California Emissions Warranty for up to three years or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first if your car fails the smog test. This warranty is for 2006 Honda Civic drivers in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont.

Honda warranties cover audio systems for the 2006 Honda Civic for up to three years/36,000 miles under the accessory warranty.

Honda covers replacement parts for the 2006 Civic for up to one year/12,000 miles as long as the parts come from an authorized Honda dealership. Honda remanufactured parts are covered under warranty for up to three years/36,000 miles. This warranty doesn’t cover claims without documented proof or parts that aren’t considered necessary.

The 2006 Honda Civic exhaust is covered under a Lifetime Limited Warranty, which covers replacement exhaust parts that fail due to defects. This warranty doesn’t cover labor or other related parts that are also damaged.
