2005 Honda Civic Warranty – All Coverage & Exceptions

Building Showing Honda Sign
TABLE OF CONTENTS

What’s Included in Your 2005 Honda Civic Warranty?

Reviewing your 2005 Honda Civic warranty can help you understand what repairs and replacements are included. The cost of repairs and parts is getting increasingly expensive, meaning knowing what’s covered and not covered in your warranty can be helpful.

This 2005 Honda Civic warranty guide will provide you with all the information you need to know about your Factory, Battery, Powertrain, and Extended Warranties. We’ll go over which mechanical parts the warranty covers and which ones it doesn’t and review what repairs are eligible for coverage under your Honda warranty.

Be sure to check out the FAQ at the bottom for any additional questions you may have. It covers unique warranties and specifics about inclusions and exclusions.

2005 Honda Civic Factory Warranty Coverage:

Basic Warranty3 years or 36,000 miles
Corrosion Perforation Warranty5 years and no mileage limit
Powertrain Warranty3 years or 36,000 miles
Battery Warranty3 years and no mileage limit

2005 Honda Civic Basic/Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty

The 2005 Honda Civic Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty offers comprehensive coverage for up to three years. This warranty covers the costs of repairing or replacing any part that is damaged or defective.

2005 Honda Civic vehicles are no longer covered under the Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty. You may find a warranty for sale from a third-party provider, but most no longer sell these warranties.

What’s Excluded From the 2005 Honda Civic Basic Warranty?

The 2005 Honda Civic Factory Warranty excludes emissions control systems, accessories, batteries, and tires. It also excludes normal wear and tear, cleaning/polishing, air conditioning refrigerant, broken or chipped glass, cosmetic concerns, and expendable maintenance items. The warranty doesn’t cover wheel balancing or wheel alignment after one year or 12,000 miles.

2005 Honda Civic Powertrain or Drivetrain Warranty

The 2005 Honda Civic came with a 3-year/36,000-mile Powertrain Warranty from the factory that covered mechanical components like the engine and transmission.

The powertrain and drivetrain on the 2005 Honda Civic are no longer covered. Some third-party providers sell warranties that may cover the powertrain or drivetrain on your 2005 Honda Civic.

2005 Honda Civic Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase

2005 Honda Civic warranty extensions were only available for sale before the Factory Warranty expired on your vehicle. There are no warranty extensions available, but you may find an Extended Warranty from a used car dealer.

An Extended Warranty can protect you from costly mechanical repairs. Some Extended Warranties only cover parts like the engine and transmission, whereas others may cover electrical systems.

2005 Honda Civic Extended Warranties Available Now

Honda doesn’t currently offer any extended warranties on the 2005 Honda Civic. Extended Warranties may be available through a third party.

Choose the best third-party warranty provider by comparing prices. You’ll also want to compare specific coverages so you know what the warranty pays for and what it doesn’t.

2005 Honda Civic Emissions Warranty

You can learn more about the inclusions and exclusions of the 2005 Honda Civic Emissions Warranty on page 21 of your car’s owner’s manual.

How Do I Get Emissions-Related Repairs?

All emissions-related repairs made through the Honda federal emissions program must be completed by an authorized Honda dealership. You can also take your 2005 Honda Civic to an authorized dealer if it fails an EPA-approved emissions test. If the dealership doesn’t repair the emissions issue within 30 days, you can take your 2005 Honda Civic to any mechanic.

What Is the California Emissions Warranty?

2005 Honda Civic owners in California, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont are also included in the California Emissions Warranty. This warranty is good for three years/50,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Honda covers some parts for an extended period of seven years or 70,000 miles in these states.
