What Your 2014 Honda Accord Warranty Covers

Honda provides every new vehicle, including the 2014 Honda Accord, with a factory warranty — also known as a manufacturer’s warranty. We’ve created this guide to provide you with the details you need about your original warranties, including whether your warranty is still valid and whether your warranty covers paint, tires, and other components.

Please note that warranty durations are listed in time or mileage, whichever comes first. For example, a warranty that’s valid for three years or 36,000 miles means that the warranty expires after three years or when you hit 36,000 miles if that happens in less than three years. The following is a brief overview of warranties offered:

2014 Honda Accord Factory Warranty Coverage:
Basic Warranty3 years or 36,000 miles
Powertrain Warranty 5 years or 60,000 miles
Corrosion Perforation Warranty5 years and unlimited miles
Air Conditioning Warranty2 years or 24,000 miles
Battery Warranty (12-volt battery)3 years or 36,000 miles (full replacement)
64 months and unlimited miles (prorated warranty)
Hybrid System Warranty (including hybrid battery)8 years or 100,000 miles

Please read on for more in-depth information about each warranty. If you have additional questions, check out our FAQ section at the bottom.

Factory Warranty

2014 Honda Accord Basic Warranty

The 2014 Honda Accord had a three-year, 36,000-mile basic warranty starting on the original date of delivery or leasing. As of 2022, this warranty has now expired.

The warranty covered free repairs and replacements of parts that were defective under normal use. This warranty excluded everyday wear and tear, maintenance items, and most window glass damage.

2014 Honda Accord Powertrain Warranty

The 2014 Honda Accord had a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty that covered the engine, transmission, transaxle, front-wheel-drive system, and rear-wheel-drive system. As of 2022, this warranty has now expired.

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

The 2014 Honda Accord had a five-year unlimited mileage corrosion perforation warranty. It covered the repair or replacement of any body panels rusted completely from the inside out. As of 2022, this warranty has now expired.

Air Conditioning Warranty

The 2014 Honda Accord’s basic warranty covered air conditioner refrigerant for two years or 24,000 miles.

Paint Warranty

The 2014 Honda Accord’s basic warranty did not cover paint. The corrosion perforation warranty did not cover rust caused by paint damage from road debris or painting the vehicle for paint matching.

Battery Warranty

The 2014 Honda Accord’s manufacturer’s warranty covers the battery for 100 months. For the first 3 years or 36,000 miles, your Honda dealer would replace and install the 12-volt battery for free. For the remaining 64 months, a prorated credit of 5% to 60% applies. For most 2014 Honda Accords, this warranty has expired.

This battery limited warranty does not apply to the high-voltage traction battery, which is covered under the Accord’s Hybrid System Warranty that is good for eight years or 100,000 miles.

Tire Warranty

The 2014 Honda Accord’s factory warranty does not cover your Accord’s tires. The tires that came as original equipment on your Accord are warranted by their manufacturer in a separate warranty statement provided by your Honda dealer.

Emissions Warranty

The 2014 Honda Accord’s emissions system was covered under a federal emissions warranty for three years or 36,000 miles. As of 2022, this warranty has now expired.

2014 Honda Accord Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase

A Honda Care plan for a new 2014 Honda Accord was available from a Honda dealer before the factory warranty expired. This extended warranty covered the repair or placement of parts, including the engine, suspension, and brake systems, for up to eight years or 120,000 miles.

Honda Care warranties are transferrable to subsequent owners and might still be in effect for your Accord. To find out if your warranty is still in effect, contact your Honda dealer and provide your VIN and current mileage. They will look up your Accord and let you know.

FAQs

Below are frequently asked questions about the 2014 Honda Accord warranty:

As of 2022, most standard warranties for the 2014 Honda Accord have expired. If you bought a pre-owned 2014 Honda Accord, and the previous owner purchased a Honda Care extension, it may still be in effect. Your local Honda dealership can confirm your Honda Care status.

Honda won’t cover repairs that are necessary because you haven’t kept up with Honda’s suggested maintenance schedule. For example, if you skip scheduled oil changes, you may void your warranty.

The warranties discussed in this guide are only valid in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. If you plan to operate your Accord outside of these areas, you can contact the Honda Automobile Customer Service Center for advice.
