Factory Warranty

2015 Honda Accord New Vehicle Limited Warranty

The New Vehicle Limited Warranty for the 2015 Honda Accord was good from the first day the vehicle was purchased or leased and lasted for three years or up to 36,000 miles. This warranty has expired. It covered parts and repairs for damage due to poor manufacturing and normal wear and tear.

For the first six months of ownership, it had limited coverage for the key fob and OEM wiper blade inserts. This warranty didn’t cover broken, chipped, or scratched window glass unless a manufacturing error caused these issues. It also didn’t cover polishing or cleaning or any issues caused by normal deterioration or wear, such as brake pads or spark plugs.

2015 Honda Accord Powertrain Warranty

Your 2015 Honda Accord came with a Powertrain Warranty that started on the same day as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The coverage period lasted five years or up to 50,000 miles but this time period has recently expired, meaning this warranty is no longer in effect.

The major components of your Accord were covered under this warranty, and Honda would have paid the full cost to repair or replace things like the engine, transmission, transaxle, and anything involved with the front-wheel-drive or rear-wheel-drive system. This included all internal parts.

Rust Perforation Warranty

If you’re the original owner of a 2015 Honda Accord, you would have used the Rust Perforation Warranty to have any panels on the vehicle replaced if they completely rusted through. This warranty was good for five years and had no mileage limit. However, the warranty has expired.

You wouldn’t have been able to use this warranty for rust on the underbody of the vehicle, as it was only good for rust on the vehicle’s panels. Honda would have paid to replace damaged panels if they were rusted completely through, but for panels that were only rusted on the surface, the manufacturer would have had discretion on whether to repair or replace them.

Air Conditioning Warranty

A separate Air Conditioning Warranty wasn’t provided with the 2015 Honda Accord. Instead, the 2015 Honda Accord warranty had a provision for air conditioner refrigerant recharging that covered the cost of this for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever came first.

The Emissions Warranty covered other parts of the air conditioning system for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever came first. Because this warranty has expired, this portion of coverage is also no longer valid.

Paint Warranty

Car paint repair series : Sanding door paint

There is no Paint Warranty for the 2015 Honda Accord. The manufacturer doesn’t typically pay for costs associated with the appearance of its vehicles, including the Accord.

If you noticed any defects in the paint or body of the vehicle when you took possession of it, you should have brought this to the attention of the dealer immediately.

Battery Warranty

The 2015 Honda Accord’s 12-volt battery had full replacement warranty coverage for three years or 36,000 miles. After this three-year period ended, Honda will replace the battery for a percentage of its cost, which is referred to as prorated coverage. This prorated coverage extends for an additional 64 months with no mileage cap.

This battery warranty does not apply to the high-voltage traction battery, which is covered under the Accord’s Hybrid System Warranty that is good for eight years or 100,000 miles.

Tire Warranty

Honda doesn’t provide a warranty for the tires on their vehicles. This includes the 2015 Accord. Instead, the tire manufacturer supplies the warranty for your car’s tires. If you have questions or need assistance with the warranty for your vehicle’s tires, contact your local dealership.

They should be able to help you get in touch with whoever supplied your vehicle’s tires. The most common tires for Honda vehicles are Yokohama, Michelin, Goodyear/Dunlop, Continental, and Firestone/Bridgestone.

Emissions Warranty

An Emissions Warranty was provided for the 2015 Honda Accord that lasted for three years or 36,000 miles, with some additional coverage time for select parts based on standards for the Clean Air Act. Those living and driving regularly in California had coverage for up to 50,000 miles.

This warranty is no longer valid. It included the following emissions systems:

  • Crankcase control system
  • Evaporative and refueling
  • Emissions control systems
  • Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system
  • Exhaust system
  • Ignition system
  • Fuel injection system
  • OBD system
  • Transmission control system
  • Intake air system
  • Valve control system
  • Air conditioning system
  • Hybrid system (includes IMA)

To be eligible for coverage on these components, the vehicle’s owner needs to have been responsible for properly maintaining it.

2015 Honda Accord Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase

For the 2015 Honda Accord warranty extension, you would have needed to purchase this coverage plan before your factory warranty expired. You could have purchased a warranty extension through Honda Care, which offers two options.

These are bumper-to-bumper coverage and powertrain coverage. This additional coverage comes with roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement, and trip interruption coverage. The cost of a warranty extension will depend on the year, make, and model of your car, as well as the number of miles.

FAQs

Do you have more questions about the coverage included in your 2015 Honda Accord Warranty? Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions that may help:

The 2015 Honda Accord has a limited seat belt warranty that’s good for 15 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. If your seat belt fails due to normal use, Honda will repair or replace it. If you have altered or misused your seat belts, Honda won’t be responsible for fixing them under warranty. Additionally, the warranty won’t cover the replacement of seat belts for strictly comfort or appearance reasons.

For as long as you, the original owner, have your 2015 Honda Accord, the manufacturer will warrant exhaust components. This includes the muffler, A-pipe, and B-pipe. You must provide proof of purchase for exhaust parts or they must be the original parts installed by the manufacturer to be covered under this warranty. If Honda didn’t install the part, you will have to pay for labor costs out of pocket. The warranty also doesn’t cover any additional parts that are needed for the proper installation of the muffler, A-pipe, or B-pipe, such as gaskets, clamps, or mounting brackets.

If the accessories in question were installed before the original retail sale of the vehicle, then they’re covered for the same time period as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Accessories that were installed after the retail sale of the vehicle will be covered for the time remaining on the New Vehicle Limited Warranty or for one year. Parts that are bought from a Honda dealer but not installed by one have a one-year warranty from the date of the sale. Honda will decide whether to replace or repair the accessories.

No matter where your replacement parts are installed, as long as they were purchased from a Honda dealer, they’ll have a one-year warranty. If a Honda dealer installs the part, you won’t be charged for labor if the part needs to be replaced due to a manufacturing or installation defect. Remanufactured parts have a three-year warranty, and if they’re installed by a Honda dealer, they’re also covered for up to 36,000 miles if that limit exceeds the three-year mark.

These are the details of the 2015 Honda Accord Warranty. Although the Factory Warranty coverage has expired for this vehicle, you can potentially reduce out-of-pocket expenses with the CARCHEX+FIXD Vehicle Protection Plan.
