Factory Warranty

2018 Honda Odyssey Basic Warranty

Your 2018 Honda Odyssey New Vehicle Limited Warranty has expired but did have coverage for three years or 36,000 miles. All parts and repairs of the 2018 Odyssey had free coverage, including the 12-volt battery. This factory and manufacturer’s warranty, which is the same thing, covers parts and repairs due to manufacturers’ defects or faulty installation, not for repairs or parts replacement due to normal wear and tear. Window damage was also not covered unless the damage was due to a defect in material or workmanship.

2018 Honda Odyssey Powertrain Warranty

The 2018 Honda Odyssey has a five-year or 60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty that as of 2022 is still valid. This warranty covers repairs or replacement parts for components of the engine, transmission and transaxle, and front-wheel-drive systems. This warranty covers the drivetrain as well.

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

The 2018 Honda Odyssey has a five-year or unlimited mileage Rust Perforation Limited Warranty or Corrosion Perforation Warranty that will expire at the end of 2023. Under this warranty, Honda will repair or replace any body panels that have rusted from the inside out. If the rust was caused by a defect in materials or workmanship, Honda would have made the repairs under the now-expired New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Air Conditioning Warranty

The 2018 Honda Odyssey had no specific air conditioning warranty. However, it did have coverage for the air conditioning system for three years or 36,000 miles under the Federal Emissions System Warranty or three-year, 50,000-mile coverage under the California Emissions Systems Warranty. In addition, your 2018 Honda Odyssey had a two-year or 24,000-mile coverage for the air conditioning refrigerant unless it was part of a warranty repair. Both of these air conditioning system warranties have expired.

Paint Warranty

Your 2018 Honda Odyssey does not nor did it have a specific paint warranty. Under the now-expired New Vehicle Limited Warranty, Honda would have made repairs to the paint if the damage was due to a defect in materials or workmanship.

Battery Warranty

The 2018 Honda Odyssey’s original equipment battery was covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles. As of 2022, this coverage has expired.

Tire Warranty

The 2018 Honda Odyssey does not have and did not have a specific tire warranty as the tire warranty comes from the tire manufacturer. If you need help contacting the tire manufacturer, the staff at your Honda dealership can help you find the contact information.

Emissions Warranty

Pipe exhaust car smoke emission

The 2018 Honda Odyssey had a three-year or 36,000-mile Federal Emissions Warranty that is now expired. This extensive warranty covered several systems, including the exhaust, air conditioning, fuel injection, and ignition systems. Under the California Emissions Warranty, this mileage was extended to 50,000 miles. The coverage began on the date the vehicle was delivered to the owner. Additionally, the Clean Air Act requires manufacturers to cover the catalytic converter, engine computer, and onboard diagnostics for eight years or 80,000 miles.

FAQs

Below you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the 2018 Honda Odyssey warranty.

Because your 2018 Honda Odyssey still has coverage under the Clean Air Act, simply contact your Honda dealership and they can make necessary repairs and make sure your Odyssey complies with emissions standards if needed.

Yes, it does. The Honda Seat Belt Limited Warranty has coverage for 15 years or 150,000 miles, so it’s still valid for your 2018 Odyssey. This warranty covers any seat belt component that fails to function during normal use. It does not cover repairs or replacement for misuse, alterations, or malfunction of the seat belt during a collision or for cosmetic or comfort reasons.

Honda will replace or repair exhaust components under the Replacement Exhaust Components Lifetime Limited Warranty as long as the purchaser still owns the vehicle on which the parts were installed. This warranty does not cover replacement exhaust components, including the muffler, A-pipe, and B-pipe, if these parts were not installed at a Honda automobile dealership.

While your New Vehicle Limited Warranty expired after 36,000 miles, you still have coverage for the Seat Belt Limited Warranty, the Replacement Battery Limited Warranty, and the Replacement Exhaust Components Lifetime Limited Warranty. When you make an appointment with Honda, provide them with the year, model, trim, and vehicle identification number (VIN). The staff at the Honda dealership can easily find which warranties have expired and which ones are valid and what they cover with this information.

Under the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty, you had coverage for the first six months for the key fob and remote battery replacement and original wiper blade inserts. In addition, for the first year or 12,000 miles of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, you had coverage for wheel balancing and wheel alignment. These limited warranty coverages have expired.

Along with having warranty coverage, you want to make sure you have the best auto insurance to help protect you and your family and to offset the cost of repairs to your 2018 Honda Odyssey if you’re involved in a collision or accident.

The 2018 Honda Odyssey has an eight-year, four-month Replacement Battery Limited Warranty, which is still valid for your 2018 Odyssey with a few exceptions. During the first three years, Honda would have replaced the battery at no cost. After the first 36 months, Honda prorates the discount you’ll receive for labor and replacement of the battery.

  • Months 37 to 45: 60%
  • Months 46 to 55: 50%
  • Months 56 to 65: 40%
  • Months 66 to 75: 30%
  • Months 76 to 85: 20%
  • Months 86 to 95: 10%
  • Months 96 to 100: 5%
