Factory Warranty

2019 Honda CR-V Basic Warranty

The coverage for your 2019 Honda CR-V Basic Warranty, also called the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, began on the day it was delivered and was good for three years or 36,000 miles, whichever came first. It paid for all repairs and labor for parts covered under its description, and it is now expired.

Some of your vehicle’s components might be covered under other warranties. The New Vehicle Limited Warranty included batteries for key fobs and remotes for six months. Wiper blade inserts were also covered for the first six months. This warranty didn’t cover normal wear and tear for parts like brake pads and spark plugs, adding fluids such as oil, or cleaning or polishing the vehicle.

2019 Honda CR-V Powertrain Warranty

Your 2019 Honda CR-V has a Powertrain Limited Warranty that’s good for five years or 60,000 miles. As long as your CR-V has fewer than 60,000 miles, this warranty is still valid. Some parts of your powertrain and its components might be covered under other warranties.

Honda will pay to repair defective components of your engine, including:

  • Cylinder block and head
  • Timing gears and gaskets
  • Timing chain/belt and cover
  • Flywheel
  • Intake and exhaust manifold

Check your warranty information or contact your Honda dealer to learn about the engine components covered under warranty. This warranty also pays to repair defective parts of the transmission, transaxle, and front-wheel or rear-wheel-drive system.

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

For five years, starting the same day as your New Vehicle Limited Warranty, Honda will pay to replace or repair any panels on your 2019 CR-V that rust completely. There is no mileage cap for this coverage. The Corrosion or Rust Perforation Limited Warranty is still in effect.

If you’ve had any panels on your CR-V repaired or replaced, the new panels are only covered for the time remaining on the warranty. For example, if you had a door panel replaced in 2021, that panel is only under warranty until 2024. This warranty won’t pay to repair or replace panels that have rusted due to abuse, road debris or hazards, or the vehicle being immersed in water, mud, or sand.

Air Conditioning Warranty

The 2019 CR-V doesn’t have a separate warranty for the air conditioner. It falls under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty for recharging the coolant, which is covered for two years or 24,000 miles and has now expired. Other components of the system fall under the Federal Emissions Warranty.

Paint Warranty

Honda doesn’t provide a warranty specifically for the paint job on the 2019 Honda CR-V. If you noticed any flaws in the paint or body of the vehicle upon delivery, this should have been brought to the attention of the dealer right away.

Battery Warranty

Car Mechanic Detailed Vehicle Inspection. Auto Service Center Theme.

The CR-V has two battery warranties, so your coverage will depend on which one you have. If you have a high-mileage battery, you’ll be covered for eight years or 100,000 miles under the High Voltage Battery Capacity Warranty. Honda CR-Vs with 12-volt batteries have limited warranties for 100 months. This Replacement 12-Volt Battery Limited Warranty covered replacement, labor, and installation costs for the first three years or 36,000 miles. This part of the warranty has expired, but you can still receive a credit for purchasing a new battery based on the current retail price.

Here is a breakdown of the percentage it covers based on the months left in the warranty:

  • Months 37 to 45: 60%
  • Months 46 to 55: 50%
  • Months 56 to 65: 40%
  • Months 66 to 75: 30%
  • Months 76 to 85: 20%
  • Months 86 to 95: 10%
  • Months 96 to100: 5%

You must pay the labor and installation costs for the replacement 12-volt battery, and the new battery is only under warranty for the time remaining on the original warranty.

Tire Warranty

Honda vehicles come with tires from reputable tire manufacturers, and they provide the tire warranty for your 2019 CR-V. Although Honda doesn’t have a tire warranty, you can find a warranty statement for the tires on Honda’s website. Your CR-V is likely equipped with tires from one of the following manufacturers:

Emissions Warranty

Your Honda CR-V came with a Federal Emissions Warranty that included the emissions systems, and the coverage started on the same day as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. This warranty was good for three years or 36,000 miles and has since expired.

If you drive your vehicle in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington, your car would instead be covered under the California Emissions Warranty, which was good for three years or 50,000 miles. The Emissions Warranty pays for repairs for the following parts:

  • Crankcase control system
  • Evaporative and refueling
  • Emissions control systems
  • Exhaust gas recirculation system
  • Exhaust system
  • Ignition system
  • Fuel injection system
  • OBD system
  • Transmission control system
  • Intake air system
  • Valve control system
  • Hybrid powertrain system
  • Active grille shutter

Additional parts of your emissions system might be covered because of the Clean Air Act. This coverage can last for eight years or up to 80,000 miles.

FAQs

If you have more questions about the 2019 Honda CR-V warranty, read the FAQs and their answers here:

The seat belts in your CR-V are covered under warranty. This coverage started the same day as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage, but it’s valid for 15 years or 150,000 miles. Honda will pay to repair or replace seat belts that are faulty due to a defect in manufacturing. Honda won’t pay to replace seat belts for comfort or cosmetic reasons or if the seat belts were altered in some way or damaged in a collision or from negligence.

If your Honda CR-V has a hybrid powertrain, you’ll have coverage under the Hybrid Powertrain Warranty, which started the same day as the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. This warranty covers the same components as the emissions warranties, and you can find the details in that section of your warranty brochure.

Your exhaust components are covered under warranty for as long as you have those original parts on your CR-V. If your muffler, A-pipe, or B-pipe fails due to a manufacturing defect, Honda will pay to replace the parts. The warranty won’t cover other parts of the exhaust system, such as gaskets and clamps. This warranty only takes effect after your New Vehicle Limited Warranty expires.

Any accessories installed on your 2019 CR-V before retail sale were covered under warranty for three years or 36,000 miles. If you have accessories that were installed by a Honda dealer after retail sale, they were covered by a one-year warranty or for the remainder of your New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
