What Your 2019 Honda Odyssey Warranty Covers

Every new Honda vehicle, including the 2019 Odyssey, comes with a Factory Warranty — also known as a Manufacturer’s Warranty. We understand that automotive warranties can be confusing, which is why we’ve created this guide to help you determine what kind of coverage you have. We can help you find out if your warranty is still valid and determine if your warranty covers items like batteries, paint, and tires.

Please note that warranty duration is listed in time or mileage, whichever comes first. For instance, a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty expires in three years or if you hit 36,000 miles in less than three years.

Factory Warranty

2019 Honda Odyssey Basic Warranty

The 2019 Honda Odyssey came with a three-year, 36,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty starting on the date of original delivery or leasing. It covered most components that are defective under normal use, but as of 2022, this warranty has expired or is about to. Exclusions included damage caused by everyday wear and tear, expendable maintenance items like filters, and most window glass damage.

2019 Honda Odyssey Powertrain Warranty

The 2019 Honda Odyssey has a five-year, 60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty that covers the engine, transmission, transaxle, and front-wheel-drive system. If your Odyssey has less than 60,000 miles, your coverage should still be valid.

Corrosion Perforation Warranty

The 2019 Honda Odyssey has a five-year, unlimited mileage Rust Perforation Limited Warranty that covers any body panels rusted from the inside out. If you’re the Odyssey’s original owner, you can still file claims under this warranty.

Air Conditioning Warranty

deflector. car ventilation system. car air conditioner

The air conditioning system on the 2019 Honda Odyssey was covered under the Federal Emissions Warranty for three years or 36,000 miles. If you live in a state that follows California’s emissions standards, the system is covered for three years or 50,000 miles. Additionally, the 2019 Honda Odyssey’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty covered air conditioner refrigerant for two years or 24,000 miles. As of 2022, this coverage has now expired.

Paint Warranty

The 2019 Honda Odyssey’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty doesn’t cover paint. The Rust Perforation Limited Warranty doesn’t cover rust caused by paint damage from road debris, and it doesn’t cover paint matching.

Battery Warranty

The 2019 Honda Odyssey’s 12-volt battery was under warranty for three years or 36,000 miles as part of Honda’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty coverage. As of 2022, this coverage is expired or is about to expire.

Tire Warranty

The 2019 Honda Odyssey’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty does not cover tires. The tires that came with your Odyssey as original equipment are warranted by their manufacturer in a separate warranty statement that you can view at owners.honda.com.

Emissions Warranty

The 2019 Honda Odyssey has a three-year, 36,000-mile Federal Emissions Warranty that covered emissions system components that are defective under normal use. As of 2022, this warranty has now expired or is about to expire.

If you live in California or other specific states, you may be under the California Emissions Warranty instead, which lasts for three years or 50,000 miles, with additional coverage for up to seven years or 70,000 miles on certain parts. If this applies to you, you can contact your dealership to find out which parts are still covered.

Under the Clean Air Act, Honda is required to cover your Odyssey’s catalytic converter, engine computer, and onboard diagnostics for eight years or 80,000 miles. If your Odyssey has less than 80,000 miles, it should still qualify for coverage.

2019 Honda Odyssey Warranty Extensions Available Upon Car Purchase

A Honda Care plan was available for a new 2019 Odyssey if purchased from an authorized Honda dealer before the New Vehicle Limited Warranty expired. This warranty extension covered several components, including the engine, air conditioning, and electrical system, for up to eight years or 120,000 miles.

Honda Care plans are transferrable to subsequent owners and might still be in effect for your Odyssey. Contact your local Honda dealership and provide them with your VIN and mileage, and they can look up your vehicle to see if your Honda Care plan is still valid.

2019 Honda Odyssey Warranty Extension Available Now

Since the New Vehicle Limited Warranty has already expired or is about to, it’s unlikely that you can still purchase a Honda Care plan for your 2019 Honda Odyssey. However, several third-party providers offer warranty extensions.
