Factory Warranty
The factory warranty for the Honda Accord in 2013 is the warranty issued by Honda that automatically comes with any new purchase of the vehicle. This is the warranty you would’ve been under as a brand new 2013 Accord owner, though much of it has already expired.
2013 Honda Accord Basic Warranty
The Basic or New Vehicle Limited Warranty for the 2013 Honda Accord lasted for three years or 36,000 miles. As of 2022, this has expired.
2013 Honda Accord Powertrain Warranty
The Powertrain Warranty lasted for five years or 60,000 miles, and it covered repairs necessary for the engine, drivetrain, and transmission, among other performance-related systems. This warranty has expired.
Just note that coverage due to abnormal use was not covered by this warranty.
Corrosion Perforation Warranty
For the 2013 Accord, the Corrosion Perforation Warranty, also called the Rust Perforation Warranty, lasted five years without a mileage limit. This warranty has expired. This coverage didn’t restart if you got a body panel replaced using this warranty.
If you used this warranty three years after purchase, the new body panel wouldn’t have five years of coverage. It’d have two more years, just like all the other original panels.
Air Conditioning Warranty
The air conditioning system for the Accord was specifically covered for three years or 36,000 miles under the Federal Emissions System Coverage. As of 2022, this is now expired.
The refrigerant worked under a different policy. Refrigerant charges were covered for just two years or 24,000 miles unless it was part of another warrantied repair.
Paint Warranty
Paint was covered by warranty as a part of the Basic Warranty (which is now expired), but only to the extent that Honda would fix any manufacturer defects. Damage to paint caused by accidents or other scenarios would not be covered.
Battery Warranty
The battery warranty for the Accord technically lasts 100 months or eight years and four months, but it works on a tiered system. For the first three years, the cost of a battery replacement is completely covered by warranty.
Starting the 37th month, the coverage is only good for 60% of the cost. About every 10 months after, the coverage decreases by another 10%. Starting month 96, the coverage is 5% until after month 100, when the warranty expires. Depending on when you purchased your 2013 Accord, you may still be on the tail end of this warranty.
Tire Warranty
Tires are warranted separately from the rest of the Accord, as the tire manufacturers issue their warranties themselves.
While you’ll have to contact the tire manufacturer for specific details about your warranty, as they vary by brand, your local Honda dealer can help you get in touch with the right people.
Emissions Warranty
The emissions warranty issued by Honda was good for three years or 50,000 miles and is expired, but some states instead abide by the California legal requirements. If you live in one of those states, the warranty lasted for seven years or 70,000 miles.
The Clean Air Act requires the warranties for catalytic converters, engine computers, and onboard diagnostics to last eight years or 80,000 miles.

FAQs
Here are a few answers to common questions about the 2013 Honda Accord:
What Systems Are Covered Under the Emissions Warranty?
Emissions are a complicated process that uses many different systems, so it’s important to know which were covered under the emissions warranty. For the 2013 Accord, the systems included the crankcase control system, EGR system, exhaust, ignition, fuel injection, intake air, valve control, IMA system, transmission control, and more you can see in the warranty booklet.
Is There a Seat Belt Warranty?
The seat belt warranty is good for 15 years or 150,000 miles, so there’s a good chance that the warranty is still very much valid with your 2013 Accord. Remember that this warranty only applies to repairs required due to malfunction. Cosmetic and comfort enhancements are not covered. Additionally, the functional fault must not be due to abuse, accident, or misuse.
What Is the Warranty on Exhaust Components?
Exhaust components like the muffler, A-pipe, and B-pipe are under warranty for as long as you own the vehicle. They have to be components you sourced from and were installed by Honda. If a Honda dealer did not install the part, only the replacement part cost is covered, while the labor cost is not.
What Is the Proper Operation?
Proper operation is a condition for many warranties that covered and still cover the 2013 Accord, and it necessitates that you operate your Accord in an expected way. That means maintaining normal speeds, driving regularly, and getting the scheduled maintenance required.
Much of the factory warranty on the 2013 Accord has expired, and the parts that haven’t are mostly approaching the tail end of benefits. A new extended warranty may be just what you need to drive with peace of mind.
