  • Basic
  • Powertrain
  • Battery
  • Tire
  • Emissions

Basic Warranty

The 2004 Honda Civic basic warranty covers the repair or replacement of certain parts for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The 2004 Honda Civic basic warranty didn’t cover fluid refills, air conditioning refrigerant, broken or chipped glass, general appearance defects, expendable maintenance items, or wheel balancing or alignment services.

You can learn more about the 2004 Honda Civic factory warranty on Page 13 of the owner’s manual.

Powertrain Warranty

The 2004 Honda Civic powertrain warranty covers the engine, transmission, drivetrain, transaxle, and restraint system for 3 years or 36,000 miles.

Battery Warranty

The original battery in the 2004 Honda Civic is covered for up to 2 years under the original equipment battery limited warranty. After this period, a battery warranty was issued on a prorated basis for an additional 3 years.

The Honda replacement battery limited warranty covers replacement batteries for five years. This warranty covers the replacement of a defective battery for up to two years and then issues a credit for defective batteries. You can learn more about the 2004 Honda Civic battery warranties on pages 29 and 36 of the owner’s manual.

Tire Warranty

The tire manufacturer covers all original equipment tires on the 2004 Honda Civic under a tire warranty. This warranty covers defective tires, including the compact spare tire.

You can visit your local Honda dealership to find out if your 2004 Honda Civic tires are original. The original equipment tire manufacturers for the 2004 Honda Civic include Yokohama Tire Corp., Michelin Tire Corp., Goodyear Tire Co., Dunlop Tire Co., Bridgestone (USA) Inc., and Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.

You can learn more about the 2004 Honda Civic tire warranty on page 30 of the owner’s manual.

Emissions Warranty

The 2004 Honda Civic federal emissions warranty covers defects and performance issues due to emissions control systems for at least 3 years or 36,000 miles. The California emissions warranty covers emissions components for 3 years and 50,000 miles.

Who’s covered under the California emissions warranty?

The California emissions warranty also includes customers in Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont.

Who’s eligible for the emissions warranty?

Any original 2004 Honda Civic owner who purchases their vehicle from an authorized Honda dealership is eligible for coverage under the emissions warranty. The emissions warranty begins on the date of delivery for the vehicle’s first owner. Honda also requires owners to keep up with the maintenance of emissions control systems to qualify for the warranty.

What parts does the emissions warranty include?

The federal and California emissions warranty programs cover emission control systems, including the crankcase control system, evaporative and refueling emissions control, exhaust gas recirculation, exhaust, ignition, fuel injection, OBD, transmission control, intake air, secondary air injection, VTEC, VTC, and integrated motor assist system.

You can learn more about the federal and California emissions system warranty on page 27 of the owner’s manual.

2004 Honda Civic Extended Warranty

All factory warranty coverages on the 2004 Honda Civic have expired, but you can still purchase an extended warranty from a third-party company.

Buying an extended warranty for your 2004 Honda Civic can help you cover the cost of repairs and parts no longer covered by the original warranty. An extended warranty can also provide access to roadside assistance and rental car reimbursement.

2004 Honda Civic Recalls

Recalls are different from warranties, and they must be performed by a dealership even if the vehicle is out of warranty.
