The 2004 Honda Civic basic warranty covers the repair or replacement of certain parts for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The 2004 Honda Civic basic warranty didn’t cover fluid refills, air conditioning refrigerant, broken or chipped glass, general appearance defects, expendable maintenance items, or wheel balancing or alignment services.

Powertrain Warranty
The 2004 Honda Civic powertrain warranty covers the engine, transmission, drivetrain, transaxle, and restraint system for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
Battery Warranty
The original battery in the 2004 Honda Civic is covered for up to 2 years under the original equipment battery limited warranty. After this period, a battery warranty was issued on a prorated basis for an additional 3 years.
The Honda replacement battery limited warranty covers replacement batteries for five years. This warranty covers the replacement of a defective battery for up to two years and then issues a credit for defective batteries. Tire Warranty
The tire manufacturer covers all original equipment tires on the 2004 Honda Civic under a tire warranty. This warranty covers defective tires, including the compact spare tire.

Emissions Warranty
The 2004 Honda Civic federal emissions warranty covers defects and performance issues due to emissions control systems for at least 3 years or 36,000 miles. The California emissions warranty covers emissions components for 3 years and 50,000 miles.
Who’s covered under the California emissions warranty?
The California emissions warranty also includes customers in Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
Who’s eligible for the emissions warranty?
Any original 2004 Honda Civic owner who purchases their vehicle from an authorized Honda dealership is eligible for coverage under the emissions warranty. The emissions warranty begins on the date of delivery for the vehicle’s first owner. Honda also requires owners to keep up with the maintenance of emissions control systems to qualify for the warranty.
What parts does the emissions warranty include?
The federal and California emissions warranty programs cover emission control systems, including the crankcase control system, evaporative and refueling emissions control, exhaust gas recirculation, exhaust, ignition, fuel injection, OBD, transmission control, intake air, secondary air injection, VTEC, VTC, and integrated motor assist system.

Does the 2004 Honda Civic warranty cover rust?
The 2004 Honda Civic rust perforation limited warranty covers the owner up to five years with no mileage limit. This includes repairing or replacing original body panels that perforate due to rust. It doesn’t cover surface rust, aftermarket panels, rust due to a lack of maintenance, rust from road hazards, rust from immersion in water, or paint matching services.
Does the 2004 Honda Civic warranty cover accessories or parts?
A Honda warranty covers any accessory installed before the sale for up to three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also covers after-sale accessories for the remainder of the new vehicle’s limited warranty or one year or 12,000 miles. It doesn’t cover accessories not installed by the dealership.
Is the muffler included in the 2004 Honda Civic warranty?
Honda will replace the muffler of the 2004 Honda Civic if it’s subject to defects or poor workmanship for the life of the vehicle with the original owner.
